    Hey everyone,

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but tonight I found a 2008 G1 Transformers 16 month wall calendar. It is Dreamwave artwork and there are pictures of Prime, Megs, and Soundwave as a group, Megatron, Jazz, Soundwave, Ratchet, Bonecrusher, Sunstreaker, Skywarp, Sideswipe, Ravage, Arcee, and Scavenger. Also the empty boxes on the calendar pages are filled with G1 box art. Oh and it was made by Datemaker (www.trendsinternational.com).

I found it at Zellers in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for $ 8.99

    Here are some pics!

At least the fugly Starscream isn't being used.
Still it's all Dreamwave, not IDW which is odd.

I will have to look for this in the states. I already found the movie calendar on clearance at Walmart a couple of weeks ago.

Oh there is a movie one too, I saw it at the my local comic book shop earlier today.

I was surprised that Prime does not get his own page. Also the inclusion of Scavenger, Sunstreaker and Skywarp is weird. I though they would have used Frenzy, Scorponok and Ironhide because of the movie. I like it though!

I cringe every time I see that bumblebee picture. his feet are HUGE, and make up his entire lower legs.

Oh nice one, I'll try to get that one! I got one that is similar (using same arts and design), but with differant characters/dispositon. That one will be great with the one I have :thumb

Suncoast Movies also has that calendar for sale. I was going to get the TFTM for my son, and the G1 calendar for me.

Nice to see the Dreamwave artwork used for something again.
Isn't most of that Don's work from the MTMTE series?

Well the bumble bee is like that cause of forced perspective and him trying to be Magnus from the transformer movie back in the day.. LOL almost as awkward as the fat Wolverine in the TF vs Avengers comic.

Sorry to dissapoint everyone, but this is rather old news.

I reported this and other stuff from trends international back in April.

very first link in that thread leads to the same calendar.

However, I must say BustaJesse, thanks for the heads up on your new aquisition. great find, I'll have to pick one up myself. Also, If you think you've found something new, don't ever hesitate to report it, it might be the next big thing. Don't let me discourage you or anything.

I'd much rather shell out the bucks on a calendar with original art instead of more of the same copy and paste transformers clipart.

Something about the MTMTE art makes me think the (mostly) otherwise talented artists involved were quite overworked. Like Don, alot of his stuff in there is not his best Dreamwave work, at least in my opinion.

That or Dreamwave were enforcing the house style of having bizarro poses of robots dancing irish jigs or bending forward with the feet first, but their waists back... while reaching out to steal your purse.

I think the main thing there is that Hasbro owns most of the artwork, or at least can use/license it out for these applications, and Dreamwave in their short TF career has done a lot more single-character pinups for profile books and other applications than IDW
