I was in a dollar store today, and saw what looks like KO's of a G1 train combiner set. Can anyone tell me the history of these? Were they Autobots, Decepticons, or Diaclones that never got ported over?

And on a completely random and unrelated note, could the spell-check software here have some TF words added to it? "Autobots" , "Decepticons" and "Diaclone" all show up as spelling mistakes ;)

I was thinking about this the other day too, and I realized that it was actually Firefox, not the boards, lol. At least I think we're talking about the same spell checker.

I have that raiden ko. I feel it's a great way to have (basically) the figure for $5 instead of $500.

Here's a pic of the KO's--what Autobot are they supposed to be? I can find so little info about the trains on-line.

looks like raiden, but how big is it? and Raiden was only released in Japan, same for Sixliner, hence why you know so little about them.

and OM, he's not huge, he's no larger than any of the other G1 combiners are.

They look to scale with other G1 combiners, RL.

Raiden was Devastators opposite number in the diaclone series. Takara released him for their headmasters series.

Also which dollar store was it?

Raiden rules. I only have the KO, but the real thing is on my Holy Grail list.
Someday, I intend to build him in 3D.

Pretty sure the Seibertron pic is the real thing. But yeah, I've got the KOs myself. I'll have to dig them out and get 'em nicely restored.

Also an extremely worthwhile purchase. Fantastic figs, they are, with a beautifully engineered gestalt too.
