II'm a huge G1 fan but realized I really don't have many G1 figures. I only have combiners and base figures. Everything G1 is classics or third party. So I would just like to read about some of you guys favorite G1 figs that are close to the cartoon. To the point you really dont need a classics upgrade. Here are my top 5:

Trypticon definitely a great toon accurate toy just not scaled at all
Scorponok see above unless we talkin comic.
    Computron see above.
Sixshot but if they did a classics upgrade I would go nuts.
Inferno/grapple don't get enough credit great figs.
Soundwave should be in my top 5 but wanted to show inferno love.

There are many more but those are my favorite.
    My 5 worst:

Menasor doesn't look like the cartoon menasor.
    Wheelie its wheelie!
Bumble bee and cliffjumper hated them when I was younger. Didn't do characters justice
    Wheeljack cool car dumb robot.
Blaster good toon accuracy but just to big didn't match up with soundwave at all.

Where have you been? G1 toy's are almost infamous for not being cartoon accurate.
I would add Shockwave to the list of good match-ups though.

And for worst, I would say Megatron. His robot mode is utterly pathetic. His trigger-crotch, and his stupid scary clown-face with some sort of weird Knights helmet thingy going on him. However, his gun-mode is fantastic!

Blaster is just a really nice brick and I agree doesn't match up with Soundwave. But considering what the two "radios" represent, it's fair for kids play.

In robot mode, Jetfire was also close with the exception of his head.
But in jet mode, he was way off.

Its kind of hard to argue with this. The seekers were pretty pathetic too, however.

I think Kup deserves mention for being close to the cartoon model. Plus he has nice arm articulation, especially for an old guy.

There was no G1 cartoon Jetfire:drunk

    As for the topic...

The toys came first, so theres no such thing as a "toon accuracy" for the toys..

The G1 toys were so awful... I don't know how I could play with them as a kid. But I do have some G1 in my collection as substitutes for inaccurate or missing classics representation.

G1 Prime with toon accurate gun

    Shockwave

    Laserbeak

Rumble and Frenzy with crazydevy upgrade

So those are my top 5 g1 toon accurate. I would have added Soundwave, but I'm replacing him with the music label version when USPS arrives.

IMO it's probably either Sixshot or Perceptor.
