so just wanted to know where you can find g1 figs BESIDES online
i found a G1 Hardhead and a G1 Dreadwind (or -wing, i don't remember) at Emerald City (comic book store in Florida). those kinds of places tend to have some G1 figures in great condition
Aside from online sources, some areas have comic/toy shops. You can also try flea markets, yard sales, or thrift stores, but those are all very hit and miss. You can try asking around to those who grew up in the 80s. Some people still have some, but don't want them anymore.
I found my Air Raid at a Garage Sale
My Powermaster Optimus Prime Was traded to me for a Jurassic Park toy by a dear Friend.
Everything he said plus forums like here and Seibertron, I have bought, sold and traded and as a bonus since the members are other collectors, prices and trades are pretty fair as well.
I have not had a bad transaction with any members on either site, but I do check out their posts and feedback before I deal with them
I found most of them at either yard sales or flea markets.
Big Bad Toy Store also has Junk/Loose lots of TFs on their site. Hook, Skylyx and the yet to ship Lot with Runamuck and Grapple were all purchased at BBTS
Yardsales and antique shops.
Comic book shops or con's
I've seen some at antique shops. Most I've found at comic/toy shops.
During the 90's I always asked around. People I knew ended up having some G1 TFs that I snatched up.
My fiance and I frequent garage sales almost weekly. I've scored some good G1 stuff from the, but don't get your hopes up. Best way to do do that is find one that has them then watch for their address and return when they have another one.
Flea markets, swap meets, garage sales and vintage toy stores
Craigslist if you don't consider this "online"
Goodwill, salvation army, estate sale and antique stores
At a recent estate sale I got a g1 shockwave in great condition and complete for $10 and he came with about 15 other random marvel, tmnt, etc and for another $5 found swindle with cannon, wierdwoldwolf body and technobot with screw
At a thrift store for 175 I got a pristine six shot with box, perfect superion with scattershot box, swoop misb, quickchanger perfect in box, iron hide complete and perfect, bruticus g1 with a few minor parts missing but complete now, sate train perfect and chromedome perfect. There were also a few minibots.
In the same week I found 2 g1 jet fires from goodwill and value village - one in great shape the other with one broken part but displays great
You can still find some at garage sales and thrift stores, but it's harder now, it's not like the old days.
God I miss those times.
My old math teacher gave me a broken G1 Sixshot and a Roadgrabber pretender vehicle once.
And I found a half of a Pretender shell in my Grandparent's basement. I figure they must have gotten it in a box of stuff at a garage sale or something.
flea markets, antique shops, yard sales, comic book stores, and thrift stores
got a complete gold chrome G1 Perceptor from a comic shop nearby a few years ago
