If you're looking for Headmasters, et all in english, there's the hilarious Star/Omni dubs, but that's the only official english version.

You're really better off just watching it subbed, which you can find anywhere essentially.

I recommend TFCog. They've redubbed the first 5 Headmasters episodes and most of Victory. Apart from the guy doing Hellbat, most of the voices are very well done, especially Soundwave/Blaster.

Well worth a look. The only downside is that they highlight the regrettable fact that they should have been professionally dubbed in the US, by the Sunbow cast.

Welcome to TFCog - Your source for Transformers fan dubs!

they are releasing it but probably won't dub anything new..it will either be the really bad dub that's floating around out there or it will be subbed (or both)

If we could gather money for them to create a good english dub I'd be all in for that.

if anything at least fix their names so we don't have to hear "sparkle" and "billy"..that would be cheaper just to find a cheap voice actor who has a similar tone to the voice actors on the original dub and just redub the correct names..or hell get someone at shout to talk into a microphone and just say the correct names and put them into the cartoon,or even Brian ward himself could do it fro free...

Does Shout have high expectations for their dubs?

Most likely they'll be subtitled instead of dubbed. Costs less to do that. If they do dubbed, I hope they'd include the option to change to Japanese with subtitles, like most anime DVDs, in case the dubbing is ehh.

they haven't said...so I'm not sure anyone can answer that one..all I know is that Brian Ward on the shout factory site has "hinted" that they are not going to do new dubs..but who knows at this point

the problem is how much money it would cost..that would be up to hasbro to pay for it,not shout,,,,if they did pay for the original va's the price of the box set would skyrocket maybe even double in price..

Try triple or quadruple. To repost some maths I did on this topic before:

When anime is newly dubbed for release on DVD, you're charged around $25 RRP for five episodes, or as becoming more common lately for properties that can justify it, $50-60 for two-disc 13 episode sets. That is because dubbing is an expensive process. If you want a new dub, be prepared to pay that for Headmasters - and because it's a 35-episode set, without any money brought in by individual disc releases beforehand to balance it out, you could literally expect to pay something in the vicinity of $150-175 for it - the same price or more as the Matrix of Leadership set, which has just under three times as many episodes, and that's without remastering, and without accounting for the bump any special features may cause.

I'd settle for some fan dubs. I'm sure they could get some descent amateurs to do the dubs pretty cheap. Dr Smoov would be a good choice for Prime.

In comparison to the Matrix of Leadership or the G.I. Joe Footlocker, how much would it cost?

Let me guess... Hasbro would want Cullen and Welker... and they AREN'T cheap.
