I was wondering through the Base Exchange the other day and saw a complete Superion set and a Skyfire/Valkyrie repaint. I went back today and picked them up, the Superion set was $5 and the Skyfire/Valkyrie was $10. You get what you pay for at that price, they are very flimsy and the stickers look like they were put on my a two year old. It looks like they are being sold by a company called Soldier Bear and might only be found on Military Base Exchanges, but interesting none the less. Below are a few pictures i took.

They sell those at Biglots and other cheap-o stores, just in a different box.

Not sure if that is news worthy. I might get that Valk for a repaint. Seems pretty cheep though.

Also, the thread title is a be misleading.

Is that Valk diecast? If I remember right, the Galaxy Defender one from a few years ago was.

Uh isn't that a Yamato 1/60 scale Valkyrie?

    And those knock-offs are ugly.

Only the leg attachments and the landing gear is metal.

Yeah, these are really cheap. The Valk doesn't like staying in aircraft form, the chest panel doesn't lock in place and the tail fin base is loose. Superion won't stand upright well either.

This is not really news, 99% of KOs are more of a Toyark thing.

Ugh, the AFA BX just did their reset, and NO TFs at all (which really surprises me, they had tons out before). I really hope they didn't drop them in favor of this stuff (Sigma Six took up half of one of the aisles).

Sorry KidDynamite, i wasn't sure where it would fit in and it came down to Toyark and News/Rumors. Thanks for the correction

Yeah, my BX is renovating and the Transformer section is only a few columns. All in all the BX is not where i do my typical toy or video game purchases, but every now and then you find a jem.

I wonder how long before Harmony Gold starts pissing and moaning at the Pentagon to have these removed from military base stores. Normally I have no sympathy for bootleggers, but in the case of the Valk, I say more power to them. If HG won't make the product readily available to domestic consumers, then F' em.

Superion bootlegs are so common that stores should pay people to take them. But I would love to find that Valk.

BX's regularly carry bootleg toys like this in the cheaper area, the Pentagon really wouldn't be much involved with it, more like the head of the Base exchange deparetment (that would include the NEX's) The BX was literally where I bought most of my toys as a kid. I grew up in a military family, and still am in one, they haven't always had the best selection in town, but yes, in some cases they get new cases before others would. Back in the TF drough of 04 I found a Shockblast and Cliffjumper just laying there fresh out of the case in a San Diego BX. Non of the mainstream stores had them, but the BX sure did.

Walmart has carried that Valk under the Galaxy Defender line for about three years now.

I bought that Superion KO and threw it away. The quality was just piss poor, even for a KO, imo!

No they haven't either. Trust me I've searched high and low for them. Wal-mart does carry Galaxy Defender product from time to time but never the Valkyries. At least this has always been the case anywhere near me.
