He's a modern e-Hobby exclusive; a new character purely created to sell repaints. He tends to go for rather a lot.

I got mine for $60 three years ago and I considered that an absolute steal. Very cool toy though!

And after searching and found out that was him so I want him!

I bought Sunstorm and Hauler as a set a few years ago for about $120.00. Now Sunstorm commands some serious prices on his own. I think exposure of the character in the old Dreamwave comic started driving up prices and demand for the figure. They made him out as a really powerful character taking on the likes of Omega Supreme.

I got him for a very good price as well, and the secondary market prices for him are making me keep him misb. which is fine by me, since the fact that the tampo'ed insignias on his wings being upside down in bot mode would drive me nuts.

As an aside: Buzzsaw took down Omega in Marvel comics... around #40 I think....
Random fact I wanted to throw out there.

Sigh..... I regret that I had not yet started collecting Transformers when Sunstorm and Hauler showed up the first time. I know his characterization is obnoxious and juvenile.... and that he's a pseudo-G1 character shoehorned back into the continuity retroactively.... but I do love that gaudy, ridiculous color scheme of his. He's just not worth the prices he goes for nowadays.

Draven will shake his head in disgust, but I do long for a Classics Sunstorm..... :)

Yeah man I don't even read comics and I feel that way...Sunstorm is much better as a random obscure background seeker to me. And when I can get around to it, Sunstorm is one of the many Classics Seekers I'm kitbashing :D  I can't wait to get all those bastards done!

The only problem is, in the comics and the show he was yellow. The toy is this fluorescent day-glo orange. The titanium color scheme is sooo much better

There are MISB sunstorms on ebay with a BIN for around 200. but then again the MISB ones have incresed a little bit, and you rarely see one loose or MIB.
