G1 Style Devastator Inspired by Everyone :)  COMPLETE!

I have him completed finally after a rally of painting all week long. I still have to take individual vehicle and robot pics but they will be coming tomorrow. I am going to list him up on ebay tomorrow too. I spent about month total on the building and painting process. I used fusion for the black base to prime it. Used Tamiya nato green acrylic paint, and flat black. Used an enamel for the details with purple. He is sealed with future floor wax, 3 coats dulled up with tamiya flat base. This is my first custom build and I think that I did a good job.

Thanks alot Sioce for all of the help with him :)

Nice. To be honest, if I knew about it when I was buying up the figures for this I'd have gone with the Target set as well. Only swap in RID Grimlock for Scavanger. The advantage, I think, is that it's easy to minimalize the painting required. You'd really just be painting up the combiner parts and doing touches and details on the individual bots.

Anyway, looking forward to see how painting goes.

    Looks great man.
Glad the pics and talks helped.
If your other paint jobs are any indication, this will be amazing.
I like the idea of the black with green and purple highlights.
    Something different is always fun.
No matter what anyone else thinks though, it is going to be part of your collection and should be exactly what you want.
Looking forward to the final product.

thanks everyone I appreciate the encouragement. I just need to find some time now for painting. I am currently working on Menasor which is proving to be fun. more in the way of finding the right figures to use. I think that I have it hammered out.

Devi has some cleaning up to do on him. Extra plastic weld etc. but he will clean up and look great imo.

Looking real good. If your paint apps are half as good as your kitbashing skills, this is going to be fantastic. Looking forward to the final product.

I am trying to decide on what colors to use for him. in my OP I am torn between doing flat black as the base color and using green and purple accents. Or go with a darker green and using black and purple accents.

here is a few pics of some recent repaints that I have done..

Update, if you want to call it that :lol

Painting has commenced on him. I have base coated everything with fusion paint and got the base coat of green on. I used tamiya acrylic paint for the base coat. it is a darker green which ended up like the color Sioce used on his. I was going to lighten it up but when I put the purple accents on longhaul, the two clicked to me so I am running with it. I will get some pics up asap. Thanks for the help guys. :)
