EDIT: I literally took hundreds of pictures, and I don't think I can do the tutorial on the forum like I thought. I am going to have to do it in Indesign and make a PDF tutorial, sorry guys, gonna have to wait a few more days for the tutorial.

Thanks, it took me forever to get together because I wanted to make a custom sized box, instead of a G1 car box, so those who wanted the tutorial could do ANY custom sized box. I am going to attach everything from the grid made in Illustrator to the surefire way for the box to always be perfectly square.

I'm not usually interested in boxes, least of all G1 boxes, but I'm really liking this! Can I have a link to the back of the box artwork?

The box looks very good quality and could pass for the real deal. But I don't understand why you edited the colours on Jetfire's helmet and lasers when they don't reflect the colours on the toy. That doesn't make any sense. And what's with the addition of "Valkyrie" at the bottom? The original certainly didn't have that. Also, the foam inside doesn't look like it's been cut to hold the toy or accessories, which kind of makes an empty windowed box somewhat pointless.

Nice WIP, but you should probably hold off on that tutorial until Jetfire can actually be stored in the box.

    Looks nice!

That's how he looked in the comics that the picture was taken from. ANd it's not like pictures on G1 boxes didn't do things like that. (Bluestreak anyone?)

An homage to the original mold, which came from the Macross Valkyrie, obviously. Sure the original didn't have that, it was a creative decision, no one said creativity is not allowed.

Amazing job. I don't display boxes, but that is beautiful. Definitely worth showing off.

    Here's the original picture:

I admit I was wrong about the colour of the lasers, but why not retain the helmet's original blue visor?

Visors different because I used the Henkei red visor on my american Jetfire so he looks more like the original toy, I thought the blue eyes matched the henkei better who looks more like Skyfire so I switched. The original Jetfire actually does have Valkyrie on the original box, you can kinda even see it in the pic. Both the Jetfire in the pic and the macross wing one I have has it on the box. As for the insert. I am making one out of foam or out of cardboard, but no tutorial for that. There are plenty of websites out there that tell you how to make vacuum mold bubbles and the like.

That's awesome work there. I can just imagine the patience it takes to complete a project like this.
