Dejavu. Where did you find this? I swear i've seen it before. When I saw it I even thought that the white thighs were odd, but the head wasn't right for the Canadian version that I have seen before. I swear it was recent, but can't remember where. My brain isnt as good as it used to be. I am guessing this is a parts swap, and not a very smart one considering what people will pay for the Canadian version.

I love childhood collections. I've found some real gems in old collections. They are also usually untainted, except for the occasional artistic kid who thought the windows would look cooler if they were black, or a crooked racing stripe would be nice. So you probably do have a neat variant. I did just recently see another one like this, but avoided it because I just assumed it was a parts swap.
Maybe someone with a little more wisdom could shed some light on the subject. I usually check that stuff out on Freds, but his site is temporarily down.

Could be a transitional unit. They started producing Canadian Red Slag, then switched over to producing "regular" Slags but mixed and matched the parts.

Like Lunar said it's a transitional unit. Artfire2000 had one(I think he was the first one to ever show one). I ended up getting one in a Canadian box back in 97 and thought it was a part swap. I have seen a few, unfortunately they are not worth much since they don't look as nice as the full red and white version (which was show accurate and therefore more desirable) and can be made from part swapping.
