i have the reissue but i assume the same goes for vintgae.

in car mode the instructions and box show the toy incorrectly transformed (well i guess it is) the robo arms seem so far back that the wheels look to be in the wrong place. heres how to correct this.

look at the robot shoulder joints, notice the oval light grey/blue piece. well that can be rotated round 180 and it clips into place, this tells me thats whats supposed to happen (because of clip and that the arm doesnt rub against the body) you can then have the wheels sitting properly under the car as it brings the arm forward by an extra inch or so.

it makes the car mode look far better.

Sixshot has another mode besides robot?

    (J/K)

Guess it just depends on how big of space you have to display the car mode... either way, I guess I've never noticed.

The instructions do show the arms in the correct location for the armored carrier mode (on the panel labelled 'Start Wolf'), and I've always transformed it in that way, but you're right that it's not explicitly mentioned in the instruction text.

I note also that your pics there have the robot feet deployed and the radar dish folded away - is that a personal preference?

I did aswell, but he's kinda' underwhelming once you have him. Some modes don't look that great; the wolf mode that doesn't look like a wolf, and the gun mode mainly.

You're viewing the figure from the perspective of 2008.

In 1987, imagine what a feat of engineering it was to produce a toy with not just one alternate mode- not just two, but six.

Think of what the designers had to do with the tools and pricepoint they had at their disposal.

I love Sixshot, enough to own the Brave version of him too. The Brave one has a couple of different transformations to keep things interesting, as if turning the animal mode into a doberman wasn't enough. The car mode, oddly enough, is one of those modes. You join up the front, and have the wings going backwards, 180 to how they go on his TF transformation:

You are right, he does look kinda underwhelming. Mainly because of his size. I got the undersized KO Sixshot and it's awesome. I don't have any problems with him.

Now this looks spiffy. I need to try this with mine.

i really like sixshot, one of my fave TF. admittedly there is some compromise on the various modes (and of course there is going to be with 6 modes or so on a 20 year old toy) but the robot looks great, lots of ratcheting joints, he feels totally solid, simply a lot of fun.

The gun mode can also be distinguished from the tank mode (and improved, IMHO) by attaching the rifles inside the legs instead of outside. There are mounting points in there and everything.

And yeah, the wolf mode is pretty dire (if you'll forgive the pun). It really needed something like a drop-down kilt or extra panels to cover the robot thighs.
