You're thinking Japanese continuity maybe even IDW as I'm not 100% sure with those comics

But G1 sunbow cartoon metroplex never had a spaceship mode, he has 3 modes

    1) robot mode
    2) city mode
    3) ground moving battle station

Metro never seem to have any trouble defeating trippy On his own
I'm not so sure about that the autobots seem to think SkylinX was going to even up the odds with trypticon in call of the primitives

As I said without plot devises or script aid i.e. both using their full power, which never happened.

He landed 2 hits though which did nothing. And judging from the volume of the counter fire, id say that if Trypts just scrapped skylinx....well he would have a bad day :D

He can just turn into battle station mode and start shooting everything. Bound to hit something. Its the machine gun principle :D

I like to think that he is not the bafoon they made him in the cartoon but actually plays dumb and that his character is akin to the comics.Plays dumb but because he is bored and doesnt give a jack shit.

Trypticon blows. Terrible toy, terrible visual design, terrible usage in stories, just a big pile of terrible. Useless, pointless, lame.

Meanwhile, what was the name of the fellow who animated Call of the Primitives? For a long time I thought it was Masami Obari, but it turns out it wasn't -- it was... hmmm... OK, wait, let me see if the TFwiki know.

    (checks)

Ah yes. Shin Matsuo. Man, distinctive stuff!

Yes, in "Metrowars" we see both of Metroplex's fellow Titans Metrotitan and Metrobase in battle station mode as spacecraft. Ergo, Metroplex's battle station mode is also a spacecraft.

"Metro Wars"..... part of the Japanese G1 cartoon, Ergo not part of the Sunbow g1 continuity so it has no bearing on this issue

Hence there's no readon to believe Metroplex's battle station mode can function as a spacecraft

I didn't say it did. I was quoting a source I knew that had evidence of Metroplex being spaceworthy, based on your post that I was thinking of the Japanese continuity.

There's no evidence in the G1 cartoon that Metroplex's battle station mode is NOT spaceworthy.

Besides, just stick Metroplex inside Omega Supreme's rocket mode, or Skylynx for that matter. The G1 cartoon was so bad about scale that this doesn't strike me as outside the realm of possibility.

    sure you did

By saying he did "in fact" have a space ship mode and by then citing a source

You even did it again in this post by calling it "evidenced" of his being spaceworthy

But no biggie it's all in fun

there's also no evidence that he can't bake a cake or that he can't teleport to different dimensions of the snap of a finger

As bad as the were with scale they were not that bad

I feel that due to possible and I repeat possible animation hours and communication failures between the writing staff and the animation studio that's what we see on screen is somewhat debatable.

So this is how I see it..... Primacron and his assistant created Unicron, when unicron rebelled the assistant escaped in a ship/Escape pod that just happened to look like "a" Matrix

(it was a rumor once that the animation studio thought the design of the matrix was that of a shuttle or ship)

The assistant landed on some astroid and millions of years later brought affirmative together to Tornatron
