I landed another G1 junker (thanks Maximo Prime!) so I'm taking a stab at an upgrade that I've wanted to do for a long time now- Scourge. I originally used TFA Freeway Jazz's crotch and thighs, but then I realized how well the Deluxe Prime legs worked. They're even the right color! The alt mode is un-affected so far, but I still need to put a pair of hinges into the wings. They're just hinging on tape for now, but I think that it really adds to the whole Dracula vibe that I always thought that Scourge gave off. I'd like to give him a rotating head, but that would mean clipping off his collar, and I just don't know if I can part with it. It's such a big part of his look. Blah! I almost replaced his whole lower body to get rid of the love handles, but then I realized, "what are we here for, if not to celebrate the original designs!?" The fatbody stays! I'm looking for his head rocket thing, if anyone has one. Thanks for looking. All crits and comments welcome!
Heheh..love-handles. He could trade in his Targetmaster for a Thighmaster. That looks pretty good. What are you going to do with the outer-shell for vehicle mode? If whole hydrogen peroxide and a sun lamp trick DOES work to remove that. Made my Cerebros look a LOT better. ~Z
on the peroxide thingy ,u need to b carefull cause it can bleach out some dark colors (poorly i t happend to my cyclonus ) u need 33% of that stuff and please work with gloves this stuff is like acid to the skin.... and about the head rocket u can try darkov or me i have his gun and the head rocket for ya
After being away for a while, I'm back with updates! After finally rounding up the hinges I needed, I have the wings all together! It took some figiting, but they're on, and they sit flat. The new hinges are visible in alt mode, but I think that, once they're painted up, they'll look fairly natural. I will be leveling out the under-surface of the wings with sheet styrene and putty, so it all looks nice and unified. On the thruster side, I filled in under the hinges with Mighty Putty. I glued them to the wing side with Zap-A-Gap.
I think those hinges look great in alt mode. It gives the alt mode a tiny bit of added tech-looking detail. Your b-day gift for me is really shaping up
