Aside from the upcoming Soundwave, has anybody heard of any other G1 Reissues? I'm a big fan of the G1, I'm starting to get all those toys I had as a child(I'm starting with Soundwave) therefore I have a hard time deciphering what people say here as far as convoy, galaxy convoy, "milk it does a body good" convoy, etc.

I'm interested in only G1, heck, I'm not even impressed by the movie toys, what can I say I'm a traditionalist. Your input is much appreciated.

As far as I know, G1 soundwave is the only 'official' g1 release that we can expect. I think hasbro has pretty much canned them for now(due to poor sales, from high prices, thanks to TRU), and no one knows what Takara/Tomy is going to do. Usually they have a large one out around xmas time(Previous years it's been Predaking Giftset, Star Convoy, Galvatron), but so far this year, nothing's announced.

Im very much a G1 man myself (sorry BW). From what we know at this time, no future reissues have been planned or stated, although there were previous reissues that you can probably find on ebay pretty cheap such as Red Alert, Hoist, and a few others.

You guys are awesome, this ain't like other boards(like spawn.com) where I get bombarded with comments like "Shut up Noob" "Stupid Noob" and other nice comments, therefore never giving me an answer. Again thank you.

yeah, theres a bunch of reissues...i hope hasbro brings them back with the movie next year, but not just at stupid TRU...and i hope they add some new molds...when the first waves of reissues came out, i was still buying all the current stuff and didnt want reissues, and now ive changed my mind....btw, if you want a sideswipe reissue, or stepper (jazz repaint) reissue, ive got one of each at my store...PM me if youre interested.

Just to add a little bit to what others have said.

The upcoming Hasbro reissue of Soundwave may (I say may since what I heard floating round Bocton is they are not sure what mold to use) be his upgraded mold from the Japanese Headmaster series. The only major change there was the fact his tape deck could hold two tape over the originals one.

But still, the reissues are a great way to get some of the older figures, and occasionally ones that were never released outside Japan (Stepper/Richocet, Soundblaster and Twincast from eHobby)

Oh and welcome to the boards.

Let's not forget there's a Japanese reissue of G1 Megatron in December too! But other than that, there has been no other reissue news...

I'm skipping Japanese re-issues for the same reason I'm skipping BT/BTA/Kiss Player's in favor of Alts... To me they're not worth the extra $$$ to order the Japanese ones. I MIGHT have purchased a Megatron just because there is no chance he could ever be released in the US again, but I already have a re-issue Megatron. Bought him around the same time I bought New Year Prime, which is why I didn't buy a Hasbro Prime.

What extra money? The Takara Hound reissue goes for about $20-25 MISB...that's less than what Hasbro reissues sold for when they were doing them. Even with shipping, it would be maybe $5 more than a Hasbro release at most...is it really worth saving $5 and waiting years for a potential reissue that may not (and at this point, probably won't) even happen?

My only wish is that either Hasbro or Takara keep shelling out the reissues and I'll keep buyin' 'em. :)

Astrotrain is available for retail purchase here. This is the original Japanese colors, which aren't the same as the US colors, but are more realistic to a shuttle and locomotive. Happy collecting!
