Great news, now all we need to know is the exact release date and price. Maybe Hasbro will follow up with some tape reissues.

I have the Takara Reissue but even with already having Laserbeak I think I'll still be getting this one just for Ravage and spare cassette deck

Pass. I already have a Soundwave. And I especially don't want one that's not true to the original. If it were Soundblaster, I'd definitely buy it.

Hell..I might still buy it anyway, dye the cassette door red and the blue plastic black and call it Soundblaster.

Sweet. The colors of Soundwave and the mold of Soundblaster is the perfect combination, especially with it coming with both Laserbeak and Ravage(if it had Rumble and Frenzy too it would be 'super perfect').

Given the stage he is at, I'd hazard somepoint in the next 3-6 months

I will give Hasbro great props for this. For YEARS I've seen people complain "why should I bother with Hasbro when Takara puts all this out?", well, here is a reason.

He is different enough from both Soundwave and Soundblaster that those who already got them will have something different, and features the two most popular cassettes.

Assuming he is released at a reasonable pricepoint and in number, I see this as being a successful product

This is awesome news. Soundwave is my favorite Decepticon, Laserbeak and Ravage are my favorite cassettes for SW, using the Soundblaster mold is awesome, and I don't have the money to buy an origional. I hope this comes out in mid to late November this year, so I can buy him with the money that I'll be getting for my birthday. Peace out.

    Same here.

This IMHO was brilliant. As for those who wanted an accurate "Soundblaster" ... I never heard of him before I did some digging. Soundwave for me is the only Decepticon that looks like this. The two tapes are bonus! Now.. if only we could have a blue Frenzy and a red Rumble :)

Umm, Sorry if this sounds stupid, since I just started collecting again after stopping after beast wars and having dealt with reissues. Where will I be able to get this thing after it comes out? I've heard about being able to pick them up at TRU, but will I be able to get him at other retailers. I REALLY want this guy.

Sweet. I will have to get him for his Uniqueness over soundwave and soundblaster. I have 2 Vintage Soundwaves...one w/rub sign loose and one pre-rubsign still sealed in his box and also the TFC reissue Soundblaster. This will make an excellent addition to my Soundwave collection.

Also I think a while back when this was 1st reported that it was in TRU computers, it had a list price of $29.99. Not bad for SOundwave, Ravage and Laserbeak!

Actually the TFC reissue Soundwaves mold is slightly altered from the original soundwave. Even among the vintage soundwaves, there is a slight difference between the 1st 1984 release and the 2nd 1985 rubsign release.

You are right though, in meaning that he has the flush door and only able to hold once cassette.

I "heard" the reissues has working TUNING and VOLUME sliders, that would be cool if this guy has em too. This guys Plastic Dual Tape Holder looks cool to me. I want RUMBLE baaaaad. That design on his left door looks sweeeet. Please let me find him at retail. Let me guess, a christmas release and he will be V VHTF! Im gettin this figure for sure. I hope this new release doesnt spoil the high prices for the past reissues though.
