I noticed in the episode " Masquarades" Ratchet has a different voice than usual, is this cause his voice actor quit the show? or simply because its Ratchet's last recordings cause his toy was discontinued.

That was the last time Ratchet had a speaking part (his next appearance was his unfortunate and in my opinion unneeded death in the movie), so maybe he was busy that day when they recored Masquerade or maybe he was finished with his voice acting on the show.

Cosmic Rust was episode #45, Masquerade was #48. Though TFWiki says that Cosmic Rust was aired several weeks after Masquerade.

Then Shout made a mistake with the episode orders if you look carefully in the box set you see Masquarade right after The Key For Vector Sigma and Cosmic Rust right after War Dawn following by Kremzeek.

Wally Burr (the voice director for G1) filled in for Don Messick in the episode in question. Not the first time as he subbed for Thundercracker in War Dawn and Jazz in Kremzeek. Coulda been any number of reasons as to why. Maybe Mr. Messick had a scheduling conflict the day Masquerade was being recorded and he couldn't make the session?

Despite having the wrong voice for Rachet, that was still easily one of my favorite season two episodes.

I know this isn't Ratchet related, but in the Rebirth part 3, towards the last half of the episode, is it me, or does Cyclonus have a different voice too? Or just a drastic change in tone.

Not simply in that scene, but throughout all of The Rebirth, and also in The Return of Optimus Prime, Cyclonus was voiced by Jack Angel, following the death of his regular voice actor, Roger C. Carmel.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't pick up on a change in voice earlier! Thanks for telling me though, did not know that.

    proof please

    No

For the record Wally Burr was the only other va to do Jazz as far as I can tell. Wally did the voice for the episode "Kremzeek"

    Ebay:
Jazz and Cliffjumper were both supposed to continue being in the third season, but between Scatman's death and Casey's quitting, they weren't used...

I think Welker voiced Jazz for some toy commercials, either Classic Pretenders or Action Masters. Or both. But never in the show.

Many fans believe that, but it seems to be more of a "myth" then a fact.

In all these years I have yet to see any real evidence to support the notion that Clifjumper and Jazz were going to have a big pressence in season 3.

No un-used scripts, no altered scripts, no story boards......nothing..
