what was the most posable transforming figure in the G1 era? if there was one that is lol.
I wanna say Galvatron, but that's just my opinion.
I never had Jetfire although I always thought he might be more poseable.
Hun-grr was pretty cool posing-wise because of his legs. For a little tape Ravage was rather posable.
I'd have to say that Jetfire,Shockwave,Whirl and Roadbuster were pretty poseable.
I always tried to set up my figures in battle posses and these 4 were the easiest to do that with.
Funny thing these 4 were not Takara made molds.
My vote would go to Jetfire. He can still pose really weel. My Shocky's legs don't hold up well after the years so I prefer to abstain on commenting on him.
Jetfire and Hun-Grr are indeed both pretty good. I wouldn't have thought Shockwave, since you can't even tilt his arms forward... Galvatron's certainly a lot more articulated than a lot of people give him credit for (there seems to be a surprising number who didn't realise his hips and knees moved).
I dunno, it's tricky. Some have really good leg articulation, others have it good in the arms. Not many have both...
Actually, though, but for the lack of knees, Soundwave's pretty well articulated. And Cyclonus is about as good as Galvatron.
The really kick-arse articulation didn't kick in till G2 (with the likes of Laser Rod Prime, the Illuminator/Laser Rods and Stealth Assault/Darkwing & Smokescreen).
cool thanks for all the info i heared the G2 cyberjets were lauded as being very poseable *or poseable for the era* oh and off topic i ordered myself the micromaster universe superion lol.
Yeah, the Cyberjets are pretty awesome too (I have Hooligan and Space Case right next to me, actually). The figs I mentioned are flat-out brilliant, and frankly could easily be released as modern designs and no-one would bat an eyelid.
I really think it's a shame the Illuminator/Laser Rod moulds haven't been re-used and redecoed. They have beautiful vintage car altmodes (very rare to see), and they're truly fantastic playable figures. And mine are still running on the original batteries nearly 15 years later...
wow you must of let them collect dust for a while then i'm guessing.
Oh, they're all stored in those stacking boxes. I can't play with 'em all at the same time, after all...
G1 Quickswitch was pretty possable to.
He can move his legs to front and back and can bend his knees.
Also his arms are possable with movment to front and back and he can bend his elbows.
G1 Optimus was actually fairly decently articulated, even though most of that was because of how his transformation worked. I always lamented how he couldn't sit down though.
I think the Throttlebots are the winners in possability.
If your buying vintage g1 figures for the articulation then your missing the point of why their cool.
Best leg articulation. hun-gurr, f1 dasher
Best arm aticultion optimus prime (diaclone type) and darkwing/dreadwind (powermasters)
Best overall articulation Jetfire, soundwave
Just imagine a fight between them, the Battlechargers and the Duocons.
"I'll punch you!"
*swings shoulders wildy*
"Come within range of my fists stuck down here by my waist, dammit!"
galvatrons hips and knees???? i have the reissue and just assumed they didnt move, checking.............they do, very cool!!
perceptor has pretty good posability, esp the legs.
G1 Scattorshot was pretty posable too...
Snapdragon is quite posable. He has shoulder, elbow, hip and knee joints, and can go down on one knee, kneel, and sit. This is mainly due to his transformation like for most G1 figures. He's fairly obscure, so nobody remembers him.
The most poseable figures were the Dinobots, the Insecticons and most of the combiners - with quite a few of the 1987 and beyong characters coming in second...
