Thx for showing this stuff Mohawk!
Man that's pretty cool stuff. What else u got
So Hubcap would've been white (and parsed as 2 words)? That certainly would've helped him stand out more than how he ended up
edit - I just realized Tailgate in the picture. It's not that Hubcap "became yellow," he switched color schemes with Tailgate! (and tweaked a little)
I don't know, I've always loved white cars so I like the white Hub Cap! Wonder if you can still find that toy?
these look to be scans from the same toyfair book that the tfwiki just bought on ebay.
I REALLY like the combiners colors schemes. That Hotrod looks hot!!!! (Needs to be transformed right though)
Neat stuff! I really like the blue parts on Superion.
Wow Brawl looks at lot more interesting with the more rounded turret. The most radical change is with Streetwise.
Awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing the scans.
thanks for sharing these pictures. Can't wait to see the rest!
Yellow Tailgate is win!
Nice, which book is this from? I have some of these pics, not all. Ras owns that Tailgate and some of the others pictured, I have the Blurr and a few other bits.
love that Ultra Superion look
i want that brawl badly...love that circular looking turret....
Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing!
They definitely should have kept Tailgate and Hubcap like this, rather than switching them (for whatever reasons).
Interesting Combaticons... intermediate molds I guess? There were much earlier molds that looked like their animation models more, weren't there? Brawl looks a bit better... he was always my least favourite Combaticon toy, and this version is just a little more attractive.
What is it with Streetwise's head anyway? It's hard to tell in the picture, but it is different. Why should it look familiar?
Superion looks a bit more heroic like that... and yeah, more Magnus like. Something in between this and the final colours probably would have been best.
^ Is this catalog from the UK or US?
I know some of the 84/85 Autobot cars were shown in the 1986 product leaflets that shipped with TFs in some parts of Europe.
They weren't shown in the 1986 US catalog though, so i was under the impression that they weren't available in the US at this point.
As a kid in the 80s, this brings tears to my eyes! G1, FTW!!
Very cool, thanks for sharing!
