I just completed piecing him together. So give a shout out for those who own him.
Had mine since i was a wee fella! The stickers on the wings are cracked everywhere and i have a couple weopons left while the rest are i assume in a dirt grave in my parents backyard.
i love my predaking (heavy as hell - metal version)
cool werepolarbear I still need to add a predaking to my own collection. was it any cheaper to do it by piecing it together and if so how long did it take you?
I pieced mine together over a good few years. Took a long time, but it was worth it.
I then customised a Gundam KO's sword to give Predaking a real sword to hold!
I own the reissue that came out before the shiney reissue (so G1 colours). May I give a shout out?
While we are at it. Is there a way to have his wings clip in solidly or do they just pretty much hang there?
I got the 1st reissue back in early 2000, not that crap with the gold trim. This is Thr ultimate G1 toy. Solid and durable and definitely a display piece.
I recommend you get the CrazyDevy add on parts to spruce up your Predacons
CD solves that problem with one of their upgrade kits.
I have a vintage Predaking. I got mine in a trade back in the mid 90's.
congrats OP. it took me 20 years to piece him together:
summer 1988 - during a visit to my grandparents, i find Dirge and all five Predacons (plus a lot of other long out of production mid-80s toys) at a local store in small town Illinois. all i can afford by pledging to do a lot of chorse is Dirge.
fall 1988 - return to the store, convince mom to get Headstrong and Divebomb, the only remaining Predacons, and hold them until Christmas.
spring 1998 - i pick up a MIB Razorclaw and MOSC Powerglide at a toy show for $45
2004 - during law school, i buy a complete Rampage from ebay for $20 plus shipping
2008 - while deployed to Iraq, a MIB Tantrum from ebay for $35.
January 2009 - while on leave from Iraq, i finally combine Predaking
@LSyd That's quite a journey. Well done son.
Got mine back in 2005 with the reissue Insecticons.
Have a nice KO as well with a lot of white colouring on it. Rampage looks great as a white tiger.
i got mine from a friend, missing a few small weapons, sold him a couple years later, fast forward to last Tfcon, I wanted another, so bought one from the dealer room, was combining it, and had a sense of deja vu, same guns missing, same good stickers, pm'd the member i sold it to, it was the same one i sold, kinda funny. started buying the small weapons for it, three more swords and guns left to get
Mine is the re-issue from what was it, 2000? 2001? With a few brief exceptions, he's been on display constantly dispite my rotating displays.
@Whoamidri Don't know if it is cheaper to piece him together or buy him complete it depends on your monthly budget. It took me a little over two years to piece together the big guy. All I am lacking to have a complete Predacon set is Divebomb's and Headstrong's swords. He is worth the time and effort. As for CrazyDevy part their Predaking sword would be worth getting.
got the original reissue one - still one of the gems in my collection to this day.
I have both reissues, got the first one at a con, my wife gave me some extra cash for my birthday to spend at the con, and i used it to buy reissues Predaking and Perceptor. I was super happy. I liked Predaking so much that I got the second reissue as well, to have a backup. He really rocks.
I got the first reissue, love it so much, decided to purchase the AFA Reissue as well.
I got one too...with some Crazy Devy add ons. Looks nice!
I used to have one. it was a vintage G1 with diecast and I got it pretty cheap around 02-03. 100% complete. I still have the tech specs for all of them if anybody needs them.
Vintage predaking. Had it ever since it hit store shelves in the 80's.
