Warner Bros. and DC comics have been doing these direct to video movies for the past year now of various Batman, Superman, and other superhero stories, and it got me thinking that it would be cool if Hasbro made a deal with a Japanese animation studio, got the old voice actor gang back together, and made some annual direct to video G1, or other universe stories ( but mainly G1):D  for us fans. Cool idea, right? I mean theirs alotta stories that you could still have in the G1 universe and (I think) it would be profitable for them. So whos with me on this? Can we get a petition going?:lol

I'd rather more Prime stuff, to be honest.

The only G1 related update I want to see is the events that led to war ending, the fates of bots and cons that fought in it, and show off tthe bots and cons becoming Maximals and Predacons. That missing gap really need to be cover.

I'd rather they adapt G1 Marvel Comics stories, like "Target:2006" or "Fallen Angel", but that's just me.

    That would be cool.

    This idea is also nice.

I wouldn't mind some animated media covering the Great War though.

I think the Japanese handled that department with OVAs like VICTORY, ZONE and the like.

The USA would still have room though to make their own.

Yeah, I suggested something similar many months earlier and I'm in for it.

Would be cool if they could really get all the original voice actors back to their work. Especially Zombie-Latta would be awesome when revived. Even the medical world would be sensated by this.

As would Zombie-Crothers, and Zombie-Messick, and...

Really, just put Welker on the job. He can voice everybody.

Or, you could get Jim Cummings to do it. He's a gun when it comes to imitating other people's voices.

Just want to point out Victory wasn't OVA. Scramble City was in as much as it was animated. And Zone became one because the regular planned series was canceled.

-ZacWilliam, while I could see them someday doing G1 OVA for older fans I don't think it'll happen too soon, as they have other priorities right now with Movies, and several tv shows.

It just would be cool to get some origin stories for the Constructicons, Perceptor and the gang, Protectobots, Sky Lynx ,Pipes and the 86 mini-bots and so on.

I would buy it. Make it a touch more mature, with high quality animation, and an OVA would be bought by me on-sight.
    All great ideas:
    G1 - season 2.5
Marvel UK stories brought to life
Rise of the Maximals and Predicons
    Revisitation of Transformers Animated
    Spotlight series
    Megatron Origins
    Multiverse tale

These all sound great and there are tons of stories to explore and mine.

I'd rather see something that ties into a more alive continuity, like LSOTW or the IDW-verse, or classics.

I'm really disappointed that IDW passed on the All Hail Megatron motion comic that was proposed. The few voices showcased in the demo definitely brought back memories of the old cartoon.

Actually what Hasbro should have done is make an OVA that deals with the story of FOC. This way, it helps promote the game & there are toys on the shelf to go with the movie.

    Indeed.

G1 went on long enough. If you're going to bring back a series bring back one with actual stories to tell.

Oh, dude, an adaptation of LSOTW would be the shit.

    I like that idea.

I would like to see a close analog to LSotW with Prime's artistic (CGI) style. G1 is dead and we need to think of newer stuff to work with. Just doing a Prime Movie would be cool in itself.

I'm as nostalgic as most here but trying to resurrect the old material is getting old(er). Throw out some NEW ideas to work with and expand the brand.
