G1 is great. I love TFTM. Its fun to watch. The tv series is pretty good too. Beast Wars to me just brought Transformers storytelling to a new level. It seems as if every cartoon series is compared to Beast Wars when deciding quality. Beast Wars is just really, really good
So you think Laserbeak, Ravage, Sky Lynx, Dinobots, Trypticon, Predaking, and so on are all junk and should never be in G1?
Beast Wars is my G1. It's what I grew up on. Love, love, love it. Beast Wars over G1 any day and that's saying something because I bloody love G1!
No, these people only dislike Transformers that turn into organic animals, while at the same time they swear G1 is better because it's "real" robots in disguise.. Because, you know, giant metal dinosaurs are totally "robots in disguise."
Beast wars. G1 good but as a show point of view beast wars wins because it had great story elements while g1 is pretty much a long toy commercial with a decent story. Both series made great iconic characters but beast wars characters had a lot more emotion to them. Both toy lines are great but beast wars is the beginning of how toys are made today with ball joints and pop off pieces without breaking the toy. Only thing g1 wins in is comicbook series.
Beast Wars also had robotic animals after they became transmetals. So transmetal Megatron in his tyrannosaurus beast mode is no different then Grimlock in his.
yeah and? Solrac333 made a quick post as to why he didn't like BW.... from that it's pretty simple to infer what he meant 'he doesn't like transformers that have real animals/insects/etc alt modes. The fact that there are Transmetal characters later means nothing- because he still doesn't like fury animalformers. It's not really fair to ask people what they like and don't like and then come at them for their responses.
We have a mind reader that didn't spell correctly here, those are great! It's furry. Fury is rage. And the guy you quoted already refuted everything you said since, meaning you typed out all that for nothing. And it's still furry. Unless you think the BW era was full of really really really angry guys.
I was born riiiiiight at the end of the 80's so i only knew a little bit of G1. and of course, without it we wouldn't be having the debate. The movie is still one of my faves (just watched it last night actually), and i still try to hunt down any and all G1 figures i can. Beast Wars however is what i really grew up with. Untill Beast Wars hit, G1 toys were essentially baby toys to me. I still loved and played with them, but BW were the grown up evolution of an already awesome toyline. also i had only seen a few episodes of G1. Mostly just the "Return of Prime" that i constantly rented from the corner store (i rented that thing so much they just gave it to me) and the movie. BW was the first TF fiction i knew inside and out. however having said that, i also enjoyed Beast Machines. OMG THANK YOU! that was literally tearing me up inside
And BW's dated-yet-excellent-for-the-time CGI was leagues better than G1's shitty-even-by-80's-standards animation. In BW characters could actually emote visually , something that was a rarity in G1.
