Maybe this is a dumb questions...but. I am attempting my first custom. I need to know how to pul the wheels off of a G1 OP with out ruining them or the pin. BTW I have a plastic wheeled UM cab actually. Any help would be much appreciated.

hit the pin up with a soldering iron. Do a search for pin removal in the tips and tutorials section.

Ok I found that info thanks. Will that trick work for the front axle too? It looks like it has a sleeve that slides onto the pin to allow the wheels to turn and not come off the axle. This is the hard wheeled version of Ultra Magnus.

I'm not sure. I did it on a tf recently and have yet to come to the point to attach the wheels. They came off easy enough. I'd find a second bot or a similar one and experiment on that one first or be impatient (like me) and just jump in and either say "Yay" or " ohhh, that didn't work"

When I did my G1 Prime custom, I wasn't able to figure out how to take apart the front axle, and was leery about damaging the figure permanently... So I just taped off the front wheels and painted everything else.

So, even if you can't do it, remember; there's always an alternative! :D

I think I will have to just paint around them too. Oh well I was hoping to get 100% coverage with the paint.

    Thanks for the tips guys.

You still may be able to, just angle your brush/can behind the taped up wheel... Although it may be a smidge harder with the plastic-wheeled version (ie: larger wheel, compared to just the hubcap)...
