I think I might have posted this in the wrong forum before...

The good folks at PlayNC have announced City of Heroes/Villains Issue 9:Breakthrough.

One of the new features will be a black market truck from which you can buy goods.

That truck bears a striking resemblence to Optimus Prime. See the article here (scroll all the way down).

The trailer sticker isn't accurate. It's supposed to come up at an angle and then to the left, towards the back.

obviously him. the trailer design (while slightly inaccurate as stated above) is a dead giveaway.

I hope you're not serious. They could possible copy it exactly. It has to be slightly different to keep from being sued.

I doubt such a minor difference would turn the balance in preventing a lawsuit. I mean, it's like making an exact copy of Spider-Man's costume but leave out the red stripes on the arms.

There are other differences that make this a red flat nose other than optimus prime though. Things like the grill on the front and the shape of the gray around the cab. One could argue it is just a red truck. I would think it was purposfully done rather than it being an acciedent.

I was serious. If the sticker isn't accurate then it's not Prime, it's just a cab and trailer that looks similar. Like a KO.

Um, I hate to even say this on account of I'm a long TF ime fan and what with this being a fan site and all, but I believe you guys may have it wrong.
The actual flat-nosed semi was long before the conception of Optimus Prime.
I'm from a 3 genereation Truck/Heavy equipment family. If anybody is going to nail someone for copying a design, it's the manufacturer of the truck who has first shot at it. While Primes design is very similar to one style of '76 International Semi. they did do some subtle alterations to the toys design. The truck in the picture actually comes closer to being sued by International than by a suit from Has/Tak if they don't have proper permissions. It does also have great similarities to a style of Peterbilt from the same time frame (almost identical across the front) but the PB design did not come with the deeper sleeper cab. To get that depth was a custom order item, they stopped at a single cause most commonly had reefer units (refrigeration trailers) to carry behind them and required additional aux. hookups. The PB and Internationals were great agricultural rigs cause of their size while the KW's and Macks did the heavy overland hauling cause of the larger powerplants and heavy duty trans. housings. (at least in the States)

Was that in reference to me? If so, you are mistaken. I have never been registered on this site before this year, I have been exclusively on Seibertron till recently (they pissed me off over there) and I sure as hell would never have a name like Necromancer. It's too...frilly! I Don't DO Frilly!
Whatever your reason for your claim, I would be very interested in hearing it. If someone out there has a similar degree of knowledge of big rigs, I'm not surprised but in all fairness, most of my info was passed along by my father who has driven damn near every kind of rig out there including ones most folks have never heard of.
If there is someone out there who thinks they can impersonate me, they better pray to whatever god they believe in that if they are in the lower 48, I don't find them. I have no qualms about making somone a statistic if they've pushed their luck too far.

Yes. Look at the date of the last post in this thread before you posted. It was dead for 2 years. You resurrected it. We call it zombie thread.

Zombie thread or not, why does every single semi that looks similar to Prime HAVE to be Prime?
