Nope. I want one. I dont have a G1 Prime, I really like how it looks in the box but NO WAY IS THIS WORTH $50 Hasbro. Hell, I doubt it even has diecast. Have any of these recent reissues use diecast in them?

Drop this to what its worth, $30, and people will buy this. $50 is just a slap in the face to collectors who you are clearly trying to milk, Hasbro.

 

Encore reissue might work, as it also has a lighter blue. But if you already had that figure, I don't really see the point in picking this guy up hehe

 

I was at Walmart in Valdosta, GA tonight... not only did they put their entire stock of POTP figures on Clearance. Voyager Starscream at $13.00, Deluxe class at $9.00, and Scouts at $5... G1 Reissue Hot Rod at $15.00....

...they have a case... but I didn't buy one. Not until i know what the MSRP is.

Is the box the exact same size as Hotrods? I may not be sold yet on Optimus, but I may have to pick up a shipping box if I can find one at Walmart to neatly store these as they (hopefully) release more.

The price is too high, but I have not had a G1 Optimus Prime since I had my original when I was lIke 7-8 years old. At this point in life, waking up early on Saturday morning and driving to a store to find my favorite childhood toy on the shelf, available for purchase again was worth the money to me, for the total experience.

 

Found one in my area but seems like based on brickseek, 6 is what's floating around at most. The only thing worth mentioning is the 4 I had to pick from all had damages somewhere so finding a near perfect one may be a bit difficult.

 

I like how you have a random G1 megatron just sitting on the table by the napkins and salt/pepper. Nice!

When I asked the (unfortunately semi new, but extremely active) toy manager this past Thursday gave him the code, he said "they stopped carrying it" nut the last time I got that answr they showed up that next week so Idk what to think.

I tried ordering one from China today but they dont do post office boxes for whatever reason. Ugh my town sucks there is no mail in this town and SO MANY ISSUES ARISE from this from so many different companies, its sickening.

 

The red on this version is clearly lighter than the original, which was a major complaint of the TRU version. However that one came with the trailer, an insignia with sound, and a video, - and in my case, I paid $30 for the set on sale! This is just ridiculous!

Edit: those stickers are something else, my one knee sticker ripped trying to apply it, and they look terrible on the shoulders??? What am I missing? Something about the forearm stickers look washed out/dull too? Faux rub symbol? The original stickers don’t look this bad.

You are mixing two releases together. The TRU version was only 40 and was pretty standard aside from the short stacks and stripped out springs in the trailer. The $80 Universe version came with all the bells and whistles but it was available everywhere.

 

I'll come to your defense on this one. It's common practice for a retailer to honor mispriced merch, I don't get how anyone is calling that theft. And that's all on Walmart. That's how I got POTP Hungrrr for $3 (ALL their voyagers were neatly squared up with the price tag, it was no accident, and not like one lone boxed got pushed over or set in the wrong spot). My only issue would be going in, and intentionally shifting boxes around to scam. But if you walk in and find them like that, then congrats.

 

It comes with standard gun and bloated gun the bloated gun was only released in the first production in early 1984 then switched to the standard version afterwards

 

I am glad that this was announced and released in a timely manner. Looks like Walmart did some note-taking. Still, it's sad that not only does Prime not come with a trailer (and is $50), but the chance of an Ultra Magnus with his trailer is practically zero with this development. That means either UM isn't coming, or White Prime is going to happen. I doubt the latter.
