So while getting supplies for the 2005 Wonderfest statue I just finished..I saw in their model section a model for a semi that looked pretty similar to the original G1 Prime. I haven't done models in years--decades even. But what the hell..so, just like original Prime statue, opened, primed, painted, glued..almost done.. Using the same Flame Red and Metallic Flake Blue with chrome.
    Set and Supplies

    Primed and ready to go..
    Shiny wet looking blues
    [IMG]
    Chromed
    [IMG]
    Luxurious Insides!
    Can already see him now..
A ton of unnecessary detail on this thing..but cool none the less..
    So very close..So similar..Almost perfect!
Now to add some chromed detail!

Nothing more annoying than waiting for paint to dry...or glue.

Here's final update before finished. Patiently waiting for things to dry to add smoke stacks and some lights.

    And DONE!...I think..

I would suggest you suspend the pieces before you paint them but good job other than that

Beautiful, you haven't lost your touch with model kits, apparently. I've never been good at them, myself.

    Good luck, many pics please.

Nice. I've been eyeballing that model kit every time I go to the hobby store. How does it size up next to GIJOEs ?

UNLESS, you think it is completely dry and leave a big ol' finger print in the paint! GRRRrrr.

    Looks great so far!

yeah, fortunately I haven't had that one happen yet. Although, now I realize after attaching the chromed stuff to the cab..I still haven't done his grey stripe and now I'm sure that'll be fun to paint through. I'm not sure yet..adding the chrome pieces now seem to make him too flashy for Prime..sure, looks real and all..but so used to a less flashy version, simplified and all..but I guess I'll continue on.

Looks really good! Here is an idea for the silver strip that goes around the cab, why not use some of that aluminum duct tape? I bought a whole roll at walmart a few months back and gives the look of chrome.

I looked into that. But duct tape had that rigged type texture to it; I'd want it to be smooth like paint.

I'm actually having a lot of fun with it too. I mean it's been years since I've done one..and now doing it as an adult and actually trying to have something come out like really professional and well made..it's just as much fun. I kinda want to do more now...hmm, make an entire G1 line up of models!

I'm debating adjusting the smoke stacks to have them be wider apart and on the back of the cab like G1 Primes...although this is more accurate. And also debating adding actual truck stickers and license plate etc that came too..they even have an Oregon one..What do you all think?
