I remember seeing someone selling repair kits for the walking hubs on G1 Omega Supreme. Does anyone know where to find them, do they still exist? How about the small clips, for that matter?

I just got an original OS that needs both sides done (he's great condition, only missing one small clip). He's been a bit of a grail for me for some time. Got him for $60 shipped, not too bad of a deal but I'm realizing now with the repairs and tracking down that clip I probably should have just gotten the reissue.

Oh well, let's give an old boy new life, right?

I've been casually trying to fix these drums/hubs for years, only finding one perfect original one along the way. Transrepro used to have kits for $6.50, but no one has picked up the torch since.

    That's probably what I saw.

I guess I'll try and work out a fix for this on my own. Maybe I'll figure out something easy for everyone.

Is this what you are looking for?
G1 TRANSFORMER OMEGA SUPREME MEDIUM LEG CLIP - eBay (item 120422137307 end time May-24-09 16:12:08 PDT)

    Transformers Lot - G1 - OMEGA SUPREME - Clip - Medium - eBay (item 360154455583 end time Jun-10-09 18:11:08 PDT)

He does show up piecemeal on ebay sometimes but like most vintage TFs, buying an incomplete loose model can cost more to find his accessories than to just buy the complete loose one. I learned that the hard way when I bought my pretenders and tried to piecemeal inside robots and accessories.

No, the small clip - but I just found and bought one for $15, so he's complete now.

Now to find a way to fix those hubs.

just went to transrepro.com and they list the hub for OS. (doesn't say 'no longer available' like several other things)

Ok, just did a little more looking around at transrepros and it looks like that may be dead and they forgot to turn the lights off on the way out. Maybe this is something everyone knew and I'm just out of the loop.

Well, I got him fixed. EVERY contact inside was corroded to hell, a couple of the battery connectors had corroded right through and fell off, and his driving hubs were both missing the springy pins that connect to the tracks.

A couple handmade pins with pen springs, a couple new battery connectors and a lot of corrosion removal later and he's walking like a champ (a super SLOW champ).

I wish I would have waited to put him together before buying that clip - those small clips are next to useless. Oh well, complete is complete.
