Get your Galvatron ready for a signing frenzy (no TF pun intended)!!!!! Leonard Nimoy of the G1 Transformers movie will be making an appearance at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment expo April 24-25!! As reported earlier Tony Todd will be there too, however, this is Spock/Galvatron! Get your Figures, G1 box or movie signed by the Movie/Season 3 bad boy himself!!

Didn't Nimoy at one point deny voicing a Transformer?

I was gonna say, TF fans will be overtaken with Trekkies.

Why does he deny playing Galvatron? You'd think Nimoy would welcome a chance to be recognized for something other than Spock, although that green-blooded Vulcan has put food on the table for 40+ years.

I think he denies it because it was just a one time thing as a silly cartoon character. Was probably just another paycheck for him, like with Orson Welles (the irony of it being his last performance aside).

He doesn't deny playing Galvatron. The years following the death of Orson Welles, unsubstantiated rumors built up that Nimoy had finished the voice of Unicron. Years ago we got confirmation from Susan Blue (G1 Arcee) that Welles was the only actor to do Unicron in the film. Nelson Shin, director of TF The Movie confirmed that Welles did indeed finish his lines prior to his death and Nimoy did not fill in.

Really, does anybody here actually need a Transformers-related reason to go see Leonard Nimoy?

Nimoy is (rightly) proud of playing Spock (though he hated being typecast as Spock in the 70s). Galvatron, he probably doesn't even remember or care about.

All of you folks saying Nimoy denies playing Galvatron are FLAT OUT WRONG.

He denied ever finishing off Orson Welles' Unicrons line (there was a rumour going around for years that he did the last bit, you know "you cannot destroy...meeaaaeeee..." or whatever he says). THAT IS WHAT NIMOY DENIED.

In fact, Nimoy is quite happy with his TF connection. And do you know how deeply it runs? His wife is an actress called Susan Bay.

I'll let the surname sink in for a minute...

yes, Michael Bay is Leonard Nimoy's brother-in-law. In fact, Nimoy thought it would be "fun" to voice a character in TF3 but it couldn't be arranged.

In short, Nimoy - gent that he is - won't throw your little Galvatron toy back at you if you ask him to sign it....

Actually, Micheal Bay is the one who tried to convince Nimoy to do The Fallen in RotF, but that fell through for unknown reasons.
