G1 mentioned as a timeless cartoon on CBR

    The old cartoon really hasn't aged well. Objectively speaking it didn't reach for much, it was a series of 20 minute toy commercials that worked very well to that end. I have trouble now trying to sit though more then a DVD of episodes without falling asleep. The movie is still pretty good, though.

    As far as other cartoons from the 80s, I don't think there we many that ages well. Robotech is still pretty good. Thundercats intro is still the best, and the story is really creative, but the episodes start to feel very used very quickly.

    So many shows had better newer adaptations, including GI Joe, Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Thundercats, Voltron, why go to the older stuff when you have all that.

    Now the 90s had tons of great shows. Beast Wars, Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, Marvel and DC animated universes, the Tick, and so on. All still fun to watch.
