Thought I'd get that one cleared up in the title ;)

As we all know, this one's gonna be a Wal*Mart exclusive, which basically means anyone outside of the US is unlikely to see it at retail (ie, in this case, me - I'm not TOTALLY altruistic, hehe). Plus of course we're going to have the scalper issue.

My proposal is - would it be worth setting up a group or something where the US types can pick up extra SS's for the overseas people (or even US types who can't find him) and sell them on at cost + shipping? Or even cost + shipping + a bit extra for being cool hehe. You know, maybe put a sticky in the "wanted" part of the Junkion where we can keep track of who wants one, who's got one...

Just thought it might be a good way to beat the scalpers and help people overseas.

What do people reckon? It all comes down to the USA'ers amongst us - would you guys be willing to do this?

I'm curious but won't there be a Takara version also? And if so, won't it be available online?

I doubt Takara will release the american repaint of a toy they released not too long ago. Especially when they're already releasing a repaint of that same exact toy in a third color scheme.

As for the OP, it sounds like a good idea but it will need a lot of people involved to really work out well. Otherwise it won't be any different then what normally happens when one guy buys an extra toy to send to a friend who can't get it.

Apparently, everyone else (but Zie) ignored your post...I love this idea. I want this figure so bad, and the fact that the Wal-Marts near me never got Classics Devestator combined with the soulless scalpers out there make me very scared I won't find this.

This idea is brilliant, very community-oriented (something message boards need more of), and I'm all for it!! :thumb

I completely agree. As a community of fans we should be helping each other out in as many ways as possible. If a member in the states can get hold of a figure easily for people in europe, then they should arrange to do and do it at cost price.

Europeans can reciprocate by sending as many exclusives as they can stateside.

I would be willing to pop into my local argos and get Nightwatch Prime for anybody interested. I dont know the shipping costs but it can't be that much. May have to find suitable packaging however ;)

I'm definitely willing to help out, it all just depends on my funds at the time I see Startscream on shelves and whether or not I can afford to pick up more than one.

Yeah but it'll probably be 3x the price ;)  hehe. Plus I like the Classics packaging.

Thanks :)  Hopefully more people will think so... else it's down to you and Grimlock_13 to supply the entire of Europe. Good luck and god speed ;)

Same here. Done it before - it's £40 for the toy and £15 to post hehe. God bless UK prices... :(

Of course, that goes without saying dude. Don't want the bailiffs knocking on anyone's door cos some @$$ in the UK wanted a toy, haha :)

If I get one I'll sell it to you for the same number (not currency value) of dollars I paid for it. So if it costs me around $75 shipped, I wont expect anything less than 80 quid :)

Kidding. But I do like your idea.

That would be a pretty interesting group. Would you buy all the TF's, put them on EBAY with no more than a $1.00 mark up and shipping cost? Could you imagine how PO'd scalpers would be seeing all these toys going for no profit ....aaannnndddd how happy people would be because their not paying an arm and a leg? That would be awesome!

I've seen it happen before. A few years back there used to be an Ebay seller that would sell Star Wars figures for retail price plus like $3 or $4 shipping. He had a big statement on his auctions about how he was there to help collectors get what they wanted at no extra cost other than shipping. I bought a Pote Snitkin from him which, at the time, was pretty much impossible to find in the stores. Proves there a are a few people out there that are more interested in profiting from karma rather than $$$.

I wont be able to help anyone find this Starscream because I refuse to go into WalMart stores, but that's a whole other topic...

I'd be all for it. If there's someone here who buys a lot of MP Starscreams and is willing to sell it at cost+shipping+whatever it'll cost to put him in packaging, count me in.

Well with the Canadian dollar as it is, I think that would be a wonderful idea.
