So, I have the opportunity of buying one of these, it would be awesome to get both, unfortunately that won't be possible.
So I want you guys to help me decide, would you take multiforce (aka bruticus) Italian giftset or the Japanese raiden Italian giftset?
If possible evaluating rareness, cost/worth, value in the long run and fulfillment as a transformer toy.
They cost about the same ($450)

Hope you guys can help :)

Raiden, personally. As I'm not a MISB collector I care more about the toys, as such, I feel the Raiden would be an excellent addition to any collection, whereas it's quite easy to get a Bruticus even if it's just a loose specimen to tide you over.

    They're both MIB.
I was under the impression that an bruticus giftset is as rare as it gets (besides Italian abominus) as it was never released outside Italy.
One of the things that is making me wonder about raiden is the box, 99% of my collection has the US box, the diaclone box does not fit that well around all the other boxes... But hey, I got an amazon unicron in the middle of it so...

Is Raiden complete? Clips and individual handguns can be a nuisance to find.

    Edit.......

It's a Diaclone Raiden? IIRC, the Transformers one has an additional part on the chest shield that the Diaclone one does not...

If you decide to buy the Bruticus, I 'd be very interested in that Italian Raiden set (I am also in Europe) and I would make it worth your while for sourcing it! Anyhow, that probably answers your question well enough! PM me if you are interested in my offer, though...

i gotta say i was expecting the opinions to be divided, but it seems raiden is in clearly leading... i was initially pending for the bruticus figure but now i'm not so sure...
if you were to put an value on them what would you say they're worth... i guess i'll go with the most valuable

I'd say Raiden, just to being the more uncommon mold. Collectors will see the value in the Gig Bruticus giftset... But the mold itself is common, of course.

If it was down to Italian bruticus and to that one I would go with raiden in a blink of an eye, as that package blends awesome in my collection, the diaclone one...well not so much
Any idea on the actual value of that raiden giftset? If it is like an $100 difference from what I'm asked for the diaclone one I think I would be willing for one to pop up for sale

^the Raiden giftset is crazy and price is marked up...I bought mine, mint not used for slightly above $1,000! IMHO, it is still worth it to buy the Diaclone version, as the play value is there with the extra train tracks and small drivers.

$1000 that is way overbudget, with that money i could buy multiforce and diaclone raiden =) i guess it is one more transformer to my "unobtainable" list =)
if i buy raiden i just do an repro box like that :p

no need i'll just do it myself :)  i allready done some other boxes like the omnibots, G1 arcee (to house igear arcee) and a couple of custom US giftsets like abominus and bruticus, raiden won't be a problem...
thinking of that... buying an MIB does not feel that right if i am to discard the box :S

Old thread but this wasn't long ago and both these sets for $450 WTF. Raiden sets are always around 1k recently, that's how much I spent on mine!
