Yeah, this is going to be a good one. I always meant to do this project but never got around to it.

From the looks so far, this may be the best version of this yet. Color and coating is perfect. Can't wait to see MORE!

Thanks for the comments. Hmm..I'm still figuring out what colours should I put on his face. Apart from the blue eyes that I've planned, the face colour scheme is still not fixed yet. Or should his head be black???

Maybe just different shades of darker metallics in some areas, not quite full on black? A dark gunmetal color maybe?

Looks awesome sabrina. Best one I've seen and it's still a WIP. That metallic red is awesome.

Yeah, I love that red. I reckon maybe leave most of the head the same red colour, but add some silver detailing in the face area, just to draw the eye and sort of distinguish it from the helmet.

I'd prefer the head in various shades of metallics (to hold onto the realism yer pullin w/ the metallic red), like gunmetal, or dirty undercarriage colors....

If you separate the various features of his face with color, it'll make it look a LOT more realistic than if you'd just do a solid color.

Either way, the alt mode rocks & can't wait to see your results...

    That red is beautiful!! :thumb

As far as the screw....what I did one time was take a small drill bit that fit just inside the head of the screw that is messed up...

Slowly start to drill in the center of said screw, keep checking it, it wont take long cause the screws they use are really soft, keep drilling til the head of the screw is gone, or either comes off on the drill bit...just remember take your time and go slow!

Then, take the section apart, and all you will need is some pliers to grab the stem thats left over after the head is gone...just twist out the stem, and boom!...all you need now is a replacement screw.

Yikes! Meaning that I've got to destroy that screw eh? I was toying around with some apoxy clay. Thought of stuffing a small amount in the head of the screw and push a screwdriver in to mould the shape, wait to dry and try unscrewing it.

Might try your suggestion if it doesn't work. Coz I can't seem to find screws that small at the normal hardware shop. Might need to visit a spectacle or watch shop for spare miniature screws (if they were to sell that is).

...you can usually get a glasses repair kit for just a few bucks (sometimes in the impulse section at wal-mart), and they usually have a few... plus some tools like a mini-screwdriver & a little pouch you might find useful for similar sized screws.

That might wok for you...never tried that route...but hey, give it a try...:)

As for spare screws....get yourself some tf junkers....take all the screws out, and store them in a small Tupperware like container...that's what I did :thumb

Ok! I've partially assembled him (will upload pics tonight). Need some fast and furious suggestions. Does Ironhide need his yellow stripe along his vehicle mode?

Sweet job so far! I think the stripe, or a variation of it, would be awesome. I'd take some pics after assembly and maybe play with it photoshop before doing it to see how it would look.
