Hello there. I've recently purchased from T.R.U. their reissued Insecticons tri-pack. My favorite of the bunch had always been Kickback.
I want to know, why do the three Insecticons have a yellow "hatch" on their chest that opens up? What is it for? It's too small for their weapons. Were these Diaclones as well that had a little pilot in them? Would the Diaclone pilot even fit inside the Insecticons chest?
Been curious about that since purchase and thought I'd ask you folks.
Any suggestions as to why the Insecticons have an opening hatch?

I always assumed they were for Diaclone pilots.

I've noticed you can actually buy little energon cubes some where. But I just don't know what their actual size are and if they would fit.
Energon cubes are last on my list.

I don't know what they were originally designed for, but there were small energon cubes that were made for those compartments with the e-hobby reissues a few years ago. Unfortunately that's the only way I know of to get them.

BTW, welcome to the boards. This should be in the Toy Discussion rather than General.

EDIT: redoptics beat me to it. Damn my slow typing!

Just like the hatches on the Dinobots, they're for the mecha drivers.

    Diaclone. Then Insecti-clones. :)

These days the Insecticons use their hatches to store soups. They sure do love those soups.

Until I read this thread, I had no idea the Takara reissues came with tiny energon cubes.
