hi there im looking to buy a g1 gnaw and would like to see photos of the ko and the original in both modes, i cant find any comparisons other than some of the kos do not have a painted face is there any other details. also does anyone own a ko and how good are they, cheers rob
Ko is great. Some people have said they have loose arms but I have the newer run and the arms are tight. Face has paint as well. My memories say it matches up with the original but feels lighter but that's completely unreliable since I believed Hound was big until I saw my friends. I would like to either find my original or buy one to compare it with. All in all I am satisfied with it.
cool i may get a ko in the mean time, i dont want to support kos but i do find it strange that hasbro cant make them but others can, if hasbro wont support their customer base with the things they want then what do they expect. i still want an original i think ill get a ko for now will be my first as im curious and will give me a nostalgic kick of having what seems like a new transformer from the 80s that i can live those moments of opening it myself and getting excited. then i might try and hunt down a mint boxed one when i can afford it. so has anyone got photos of the original and ko side by side.
Considering Gnaw is a troop builder, I'm surprised Hasbro or Takara has not cave in and reissue it!! I suggest you look for that thread on KO where it has all the answers to your questions
yea you would think they would reissue all the g1 stuff i got the idea that was what was happening a few years ago but it seems to have stopped now, which sux cause i missed out on alot of g1s as a kid and in the uk you just could not get them so easy, parents were driving around the country to get hold of certain figures, there are so many transformers fans here and hasbro seems to ignore us even now were only getting the dotm figures no generations figure except for specialist shops, woolworths did do the classics line when the movie was out but they have gone bust now, so i missed out as a kid i was born in 84 i always loved transformers i was lucky i got quite a few sadly i only have a few of my originals left, as at a certain age my parents forced me to give away nearly all my tfs to another kid and i didnt want too, i lost my magnus and prime that broke my heart, now im buying up loads of them, so i want reissues, as the price of some originals is insane, im sure im not alone in my thoughts, i still have my pretender thunderwing didnt realise that would be worth so much still in good nick seeing as i took him to school most days, the inner robot i used as a scourge or astro train bot, not having access to videos other than the movie and the head masters i didnt know any different and getting hold of comics was not easy. just picked up a mint fangry boxed and with unapplied stickers with catalog and instruction that have not been unfolded, amazing, its really like new. i love the style assethic of it its so 80s looks great in both modes and i love how hes a head master with a hint of pretender styling also its got that kinda ghostbusters cartoon style i can remember seeing them on the shelves of toysrus and always wanted him, such a cool toy. does anyone have photos of transformers toy shelves in the 80s a long shot i know but i would love to see some that would make a great background image for my lap top. rocking stuff.
The biggest giveaway on the KO is that the Sharkticon mode eyes are not perfectly round. The vintage authentic toy had perfectly round eyes but the KO ones are oddly shaped.
