Has it ever been laid out somewhere how each Gestalt compares?

For instance.. I know Computron is supposed to be the smartest of the Gestalts.

    Who's the strongest?

    Etc.

    Anyone know this off hand?

In the G1 cartoon, Menasor got his ass kicked by a one armed Defensor and Defensor blew Bruticus apart with one shot.

Bruticus also beat the crap out of Devastator.

EDIT: Superion was losing to Menasor in a one on one fight, too.

As with most transformers, it depends on who's writing, and chances are the good guys, whoever they may be, will find a way to win.

I always figured Abominus would be the dumbest, and Piranacon would be the strongest underwater, though.

Hrm.. yeah that's the case in most situations on "who's strongest."

Maybe when I get home I'll pull out the old Tformers guide and put it into a spreadsheet and see what their stats shows..

I think all Gestalts had a "strength" rating of 10 If I recall.

YEAH GUYS BUT WHO IS THE SLOWEST?! :p

I think any new Gestalt introduced is always stronger than the previous one..that's how it works in cartoons and toys marketing!

    It's gotta be abominus...

I mean he's got a slothy thing connected to him.. As a leg... If I recall correct..

That's GOTTA be slow.. and if it's an arm.. Well it's gotta be an awfully slow punch too.

as a kid I got the felling Superion was the strongest of the classic 5 man teams with only Bruticus coming close.

As for intelligence while Computron was clearly the smartest I'd say it was Defensor who was the most balanced and intuitive.

But the tech specs are fairly relative. In the 1984 group, Megatron was the strongest Decepticon and had a strength of 10. Then in the 85 series, it was Devastator who was the largest, so he got a strength rating of 10. By the time the 86 group came out, Scorponok was the largest, so he was a 10 and the gestalts were only 9s.

I personally favor the idea of Devastator being the strongest but being just about the absolute worst in every other category (speed, intelligence, agility, etc.) Fastest and most agile would probably be Predaking and the smartest would be Computron. Piranacon would have the most firepower (depending on which unit is used as a weapon) and be the strongest under water but would be one of the least agile on land. Defensor as his name suggest would be the most durable. Menasor definitely wins for being the most dysfunctional.

Yeah by reading the description of Menasor I always got the feeling he's a lot stronger than he seems to be in the show and such, but the fact that all the limbs hate the body makes him most likely to fail.

I was thinking this too, he was supposed to be the best Gestalt ever mad, being all there minds had the same thoughts and meshed together the best.

to me, this is how they rank

    defensor- most versatile
    devastator/bruticus- strongest
    menasor- most dysfunctional
    computron- smartest
    abominus- dumbest
    piranacon- most aquatic
    predaking- most endurance/firepower
    monstructor- most forgotten
    superion- most overrated

    Great question!

I agree with Nemesis Chris on this one, for the most part.

If I ever needed a gestalt for help as an Autobot, I would be calling Defensor.

Devastator and Bruticus would be the best "Hammers" I think for the Decepticons.

I would be most worried if I were facing Predaking, as he was very lethal in gestalt as well as individually.

I had the most hope for Superion, in that he should be fairly strong with very good firepower. I thought using his component bots in gestalt vs. gestalt battle would be a good idea. It would be harder to hit several hard hitting targets than one large one. Making use of the advantages of both modes together would be a great way of taking down an opponent. Kind of like the Shogun warriors of old.

Computron was a fair Ace in the Hole, so to speak. He would usually fight a smart fight.

The others struck me as more generic than anything else.

I have my Defensor KO intimidating my mini-Devastator on my desk. :lol

    Just my two cents.

Bruticus is the most competent and reliable.

He will accomplish any objective he's set, but is virtually devoid of any initiative.

And he's definitely one of the strongest.
