After reading the boards on other lines like PCC and WFC figures; I've seen a lot of this: "as long as it doesn't slow the generations line, I'm ok with it." That kind of thing. I grew up on G1 being born in 1983 so I'm not a G1 hater. However when does G1 homages become stale or too much? I started collected all the Classics then as the line went away for the first movie only to reappear with a green Starscream I stopped with the initial wave. Then as the line kept going with just flat out repaints of figures from other lines I grew sick of it. So now is the catch-22: have new/modernized versions of classic characters (Thrust, Hound w/ a great Ravage) or have just flat out new figures (WFC BB and Prime). IMO having those modernized versions of old characters is a step back in the line's progression. Having only four figures in the WFC IMO is a huge gap in stylistic design, and I believe it is because of the demand to have a new version of Goldbug or Skidz or whatever G1 character. Like the Animated design; WFC and the movie is a step forward in TF design, while rehashes of old designs are a stagnant point. I'm not trashing anyone's love for G1 Generations (everyone has likes and dislikes), but I am at a loss at the affinity for those over figures like Drift and WFC stuff.
