I remember reading on TFwiki, about Masterforce and I dont know if its true or just canon/fandom, that Fortress Maximus became a Decepticon. Have you guys ever read anything about that? or was it never confirmed

I think the closest they came to an evil fortress maximus was the Decepticons trying to take control of him in RiD.

Perhaps you're eroniously thinking of Metrotitan - TF Wiki instead. While Metrotitan is not Metroplex gone evil, he is an evil redeco of Metroplex, nor is he a zombie version as some fans eroniously believed.

The only evil Max is when the head gets swapped with that Megatron-head-spider-thing that came out during RID. :D

Hey, there's a good question: Fortress Maximus in the Japanese continuity is basically just a lifeless suit that ties into cerebros, which is a lifeless suit that connects to a headmaster, right (though the names are different). If a Decepticon headmaster took over Cerebros, could a Decepticon take control of Fortress Maximus?

Fort Max never turned to the Decepticons, but he is one of the most evil bots ever.

You all know it's true. He's out to murder our wallets with his super-high rarity and extreme prices!

In Japanese continuity, I'd think that would be possible. Although Cerebros was also a headmaster where SPIKE was his head, so would that mean a Decepticon allied humanoid would need to be the head of the headmaster that took over Fort Max?

I'm sure there's fail-safes programmed in to prevent that from happening. The Cybertrons can voluntarily body-swap with each other, but I don't think they can access Destron transtectors or vice-versa. I'm sure the transtectors have "passwords" that only certain Headmaster robots know.

I was under the impression that all the bodies in the japanese continuities were transtectors, and lifeless, while the heads were the real cybertronian beings (Plus the human headmaster juniors in masterforce). And that fortress maximus was just a larger transtector with a transtector for a head. So all you'd need is a destron headmaster head to take over the cerebros body, and then the main bulk of fortress maximus. It's been a long time since I watched Headmasters though, so I could be remembering things wrong.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like something they'd have, and I don't recall any cybertron/destron head-swapping. Which, when you think about it, is strange, given they did the whole limb swapping thing in scramble city and with headmasters it seems like a pretty obvious story hook.

Fortress Maximus has the additional seal of removing the sword from the console though - I'm pretty sure that it is keyed so that only Fortress can remove it.

FORTRESS MAXIMUS has never been a Decepticon.

Brave Maximus was at one time controlled by a Decepticon which was quickly discared.

Same here. The only time I ever saw Headmasters was when I'd found it on a list of things to watch in a hospital when I was undergoing eye surgery. The only major unique detail that I can remember was that it involved bee people (whose power Galvatron wanted to steal) and that some guy died, wanting Chromedome to give his medal to his son. Fort. Max had just transformed when I went into the operating room so I don't know what happened after that.
