OK, so it may not be that unique, but I am a big Grimlock fan, always have been. I'm also a huge Soundwave and seeker fan, and in the past month or so, have managed to complete my G1 cassette collection, and am only missing G1 thrust from my must have list... aside from a few seekers from extra lines i wouldn't mind picking up down the road.

    I'm getting off topic....

I don't have any of the G1/G2 dinobots, and I certainly plan on getting Masterpiece Grimlock. I'm in no major rush to get them, but I was wondering what you guys thought about getting a full set of WST dinobots? They look decent, I have no clue how small they are in comparison though. My only complaint is how pricey it can be to get a complete version of each G1 dinobot.

Are the WST's a good option to consider, or is it worth holding out for complete G1's when they come around occassionally at a decent price? (which i dont know how much that would be)

I'd get the complete G1 set of 5 and if you want to later on, pick up the WST as a compliment.

That's what I'm doing. I have all the G1's and want the "little guys" to display next to the G1's.

    Good luck!

WST Dinobots are okay if you want a smaller version of the bots. I feel those WST Dinobots would never fill the place of the original G1 Bots though. Its totally up to you. It took me 3 years (6 or 7 years ago) to hunt down my complete set. Swoop is going to be the high dollar one may set you back $100.00 to $150.00 Loose. The rest about $50.00 to $80.00 Loose.

Don't forget, as well, that the WST are not official products - the quality is great for looks, but not play. I had all of the WST dinos at one point and all were loose or flimsy. A few had problems standing and all had problems transforming (don't force the parts too hard, they will break).

Wish I had held on to them for a bit longer, considering the prices they go for now. Good luck.

WST Sludge is half the length of G1 Sludge.

The WSTs are quite nice, but I prefer the originals. Having said that having G1 Sludge (for example) increases my appreciation of the WST and vice versa.

However the WSTs have their share of good and bad points, chrome weapons and alternate cartoon decos are the good ones, whilst quality issues and use of detachable hands (on some of the dinos) rate amongst their bad points.

I love the WSTF Dinos and I don't have many negative comments about them, but they're definitely no substitute for the originals. I'd save up and see if I could find some decent deals on the G1s.

I love my 5 Dinos (Swoop was almost impossible to get in the UK in the 80's!). I have a complete set of the WST and I am working my way to picking up a second set to display. I dont think that the issues of QC are as bad as some people think. Sure, they are more fragile than Legends figures, and some parts are not attached but just hold in place (Snarls dino back legs, for example). However, they are my favourite WSTs. A full set can be expensive, but should go for about 80 USD or so. I prefer the original colour scheme, so I avoid the red and XMas versions, and this keeps the prices down.

I would definitely take the time and acquire the original G1 Dinobots. It will be worth the effort.

I've got a spare WST Snarl MISB, he's still in the plastic wrapping TFSource sent him in.

I'll happily sell him to you if you're interested, been meaning to take pics for a sale thread anyway. Anyone like to say what he's worth now, I've got no idea and would want to be fair.

I am very slowly building up my dinobot battalion. Its slow going because I keep finding new things to buy. (thanx hasbro) My Sludge and Snarl look fantastic because of the time and effort put into them. Eventually I'll put together a complete set, but I'm in no hurry.
