stopped in my local comicshop earlier today, and found a near-complete g2 set in the quarter box. then looked and found a stack of the first marvel series. asked the owner about it, and he offered the near-complete series for $20. missing only about five issues.

the marvel comic was my first exposure to transformers when i got issue 1 when it first came out.

the only drawback is most of them are reading copy, not collector grade. but, i have a 5 year old that's learning to read and is crazy for transformers.

man that's a great find even if the issues aren't pristine. Like you said let the lil guy have at em when he's ready.

It's worth it for the story alone. If mean, if you're not buying it for value, it's worth it for the stories, like I said

Reading copies are all you need. "Collector's grade" doesn't mean much anymore. The bottom has fallen out of the secondary market and is likely never coming back.
