Just a repaint. I was inspired by Spurt (even though I could never paint that good for a few more years) and 1984. Even though this really looks nothing like what he does, I was still inspired by him. I really wanted to do something different than the shiny Primes I have been doing. So, here is my vision of what movie prime would look like as a cartoon with the g1 color scheme and super flat colors. I think this is a love your hate kind project. UPDATE 7/22/09 THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HONSET THOUGHTS. I LISTENED. It did need more blue and the feet, but the whole foot would be right. I also added the yellow and the arms as well as the ...pelvis area. Plus some reflection on the sun-reflector on the chest. Plus, with a little combo of movie and cartoon, I added a LED powered blade with a wicked huge cartoon mace!!!!! The gun is from the clear red gundam and the mace is from some pen noise maker I saw at office max. The LED is powered by a 3 volt battery that is housed inside the mace. The switch comes out the back and can hidden where the sword went. Up next is the blaster!!
Ha! That's awesome ecline, one of the most creative idea's for this mold and character yet. Love it, esspecially the light reflections in the window.
I keep looking at it, and I can't decide wether I like it or not. Either way, the metal parts look very cool and unique. What paints did you use for those?
Oh Encline, you so crazy. You crazy. crazy, crazy Encline. (you crazy.) It works surprisingly well, perhaps because it matches the style of the Wii/PS2 version of the ROTF game.
I LOVE it But I'm not a big fan of the movie-aesthetic, so go figure I'd be sucked in by an anti-movie-movie-custom D/L
It truly looks like it just walked out of the cartoon! I really, REALLY love the windows. Great job, Encline, bro!!
Nicely done - like you say, it is a bit bizarre; it shows just why the Movie designs would not work with G1 looks, but at the same time this does work because you've done such a good job on it. The ultra flat colours show a lot of restraint, and the stylised windows are a great touch.
