I just noticed that my two Brainstorms windshields are in different colours.
The stampings are the same and there are no mold differences as I can tell. Anyone has any info regarding the matter?

Interesting, I never saw that variation before.

    Good catch Jing.
The red windshield is definitely the rarer of the 2...
All my TF archive sites show the yellow/orange one.

Yeah, first I thought it was some kind of discolouration but the plastic is solid red all the way through, no weaker spots where the sun may not have hit etc. Also, if the bot had, let say, been exposed to the sun it would have discoloured the rest of the body.

Not necessarily. I have had windshields discolor but the rest of the bot was fine. Also I think there was a KO with a red windshield, I wonder if someone did a parts swap.

Nah! My brother got it brand new as a kid, we've had it in our family since then. So window swapping is not a possibilty. And the KO didn't come with a rub symbol, did it?

EDIT: Both of the windsheilds are marked with a '2' on the inside, just behind the back of the rub symbol so it's obviously from the same mold.

KO, with what you are saying I doubt it. Discoloration, I have seen discoloration so uniform that it looked legit but once again I doubt it. Variation on clear plastic, sounds very plausible. I tad too much color and presto a variation. Great find, I will have to see a few more before I add it as an actual variation as opposed to a mess up...
