Big thanks to Maximo Prime who hooked me up with a Blurr junker for this project. The only thing wrong with him was that his head was snapped off, but since I knew that I'd be doing that anyway, it wasn't an issue for me. He's also missing his shield/ nosecone, so if I can't round one up, I'll have to make one.
I already had most of a TFA Blurr lying around, so luckily I didn't have to buy another one for this bash.
TFA Blurr parts used were his crotch and upper thighs, and lower arms and elbows. The neck took me a few days to figure out. There's a big bar that goes across where I needed to work, but luckily I was able to saw the middle out of it without any ill effect. I almost destroyed what was left of my TFA Blurr's neck and shoulders trying to get them in there before I started searching for a better part that could do what I need. What I came up with was the hinge system from a KO Cliffjumper's jetski.
To make him bend at the waist the right way for his transformation, I added a NeoShifter knee joint. To hold it in, I added a brace that screwed right to the existing screw holes. By chance the new neck part was just the right length to reach it, and I screwed it to that with a little eyeglass screw. (You can usually get eyeglass screws right in your supermarket's checkout line!)
His transformation is basically the same now, except that his feet stick further out the back of his alt mode, now.

Holding in the TFA elbows are little wood screws right through the original screw holes. I clipped out the attachment points underneath to make room for them.

If anyone has that nosecone, drop me a line!
    Thanks for looking everybody!

Thanks for the great response everyone! This has been a really fun job. It's amazing what an actual pair of arms can do for a figure.
DL- Thanks! It's so funny to hear you say that though, because I hated the season 3 guys for so long. I'm old enough to have been traumatized by the original movie in the theater, so we got off to a rough start. I'm not sure what happened, but now I like 'em.

Wow, that is pretty cool! Nice update to Blurr! Looking at him TFA BLurr kind of does fit in the classics, they look very similar.

Amazing job dude. I had a moment of "Wait, what'd he do?" (other than the forearms) before I brought up some pictures of G1 Blurr to compare it to. Those animated bits fit in surprisingly well. Giving Blurr that slimmer neck really makes him look like a new bot and all those joints you put in on the inside really seem to work like a charm. It's incredible how ball-jointed hips and elbows can completely change the look of a figure.

Awesome. The articulation works really well, yet the mod looks very clean.

Also, the new lower arms make it look way better than the original, imo.

Absolutely Kick-Ass Job Tom! :thumb  I always imagined that the 25th Anniv. line should have been articulated G1s, how awesome they could have been, & your Blurr just sh#ts all over the original. :lol  Luv it! :D

Much thanks again to everyone! You've all posted stuff that's inspired me! I love that you all feel that my stuff measures up!
Dwi... I mean BlackSheep- I had the same thought about the 25th line. Although, considering what they charge for the reissued figures, I'd hate to see what they'd charge for something that they'd actually have to design. (Seriously, how much does it cost to dust off a frikkin' mold?) I'd like to think that it gives a loving facelift to the original though.
Bellyboy- That sounds great! I would rather it be an original piece because I'm trying to keep the repainting to a minimum, but a repro'd part would kick @$$!
I just drilled out holes in his thrusters, and it gives him a great look. I'll post pics tomorrow.

So awesome, Servo my man! I have ALWAYS considered Blurr one of the hardest figures to customize a modern version of, but you pull it off and make it look effortless.

I saw the movie in the theater too, so I can relate to your story!

Great job, very pro. I'd display it in a heartbeat.

About that red coloured piece inside : I would keep it red ; it's a nice accent colour to overall teal colour scheme.
