I've recently purchased a G1 Blaster for cheap at a garage sale, so I went on Ebay to see how much hes actually worth. I noticed one listing say "Blaster with flat back". After looking at mine, I noticed he also has a flat back (unlike most G1 Blasters that have a fake battery compartment molded on). I was just wondering what the story is behind this and if Blasters with flat backs are rare.

The first release had that battery cover because the pre transformers Micro-change mold of that toy had a working am radio. The radio was removed for the transformers release. The later transformers mold version did away with the cover completely (flat back).
