My poor reissue Stepper has been feeling lonely and I wanted a placeholder until an inevitable knockoff or reissue comes around...

Took most of him apart, taped him up and sprayed on some Tamiya paints and reassembled. I had an extra repro Fracas to go along with him :D

This was my first repaint, so I wasn't expecting perfection but I'm happy with the results. No Japanese fire stickers though :(

The white on the cab looks factory. And white is a pain in the ass to paint.

    Thanks guys!

Pain indeed! :banghead:  One layer of white primer and a second with matte white did the trick though. I liked how the chest window came out too. I taped off the outside and sprayed the underside with transparent blue :thumb

Great job! It is truly a shame that this has not been reissued, especially considering that the mold is ready.

Thanks guys...and my thoughts exactly on the reissue too! I held out a long time just knowing it would happen and I figured the instant I broke down and made my own we would get that reissue/KO... So I present my sacrifice/favor to the fans to make that reissue happen :thumb  :lol

This looks great. If mine comes out like this, I'll be thrilled.

Do you have plans for the sticker? I mean, I guess I could just print them on some matte label paper... I have a high resolution shot of it and could probably recreate it in photoshop... hmmmm, now I'm giving myself ideas :p

Either way, I'm looking forward to how yours comes out :thumb

I've not gotten that far with the cab label yet. I'd certainly like to see the labels made! The rest I've gotten from the reissue Inferno I'm using as the base (as I'm sure you made similar arrangements with your project).

Absolutely... I'll put together a photoshop file that is print ready and post it here for anyone to use who wants it...I'm a school teacher with a lot of time on my hands lol. I've already spent 2 hours at the gym today so this will give me something to do :D

Alright, here's what I came up with...

I only had immediate access to generic "folder labels" sheets so these weren't printed on any kind of fancy metallic sticker sheet or anything:

Seems fair enough for my purposes :D

If you'd like to use them on your project, feel free...I made it in Photoshop as I can control the exact dimensions of the printed image with ease and I saved it both as a .psd and also a .pdf in case you don't own the program. To be safe I opened the PDF and printed it on plain paper to check and it preserved the correct print size :thumb

Okay... So I logged out of my account and it seems the best thing is to:
    1. Click the link
    2. Click in the upper right "Save in Google Documents"
    3. Go to the main Google Documents page that shows all files as a list
    4. Right click and "Download" ... Firefox prompts me to open with Acrobat Reader...
The PDF on mine opens at %568 so if it's something similar I think you're a go!

Pipe down? I'm not sure what you're responding to.

Why not "just get the original"? Perhaps because if one could track one down, one is typically going to pay a LOT of money for a nice specimen.

If you have an original that you have photos of and you think that would help with resources for those wishing to post a custom, sure, fire away. Otherwise, no, you should only post photos of Transformers you have customized in some way.
