Cool. I've never read these stories, but $50 might be more than I can shell out at one time for comics.
Very nice deal for these packaged up in HardCover. If I could sell my softcovers, i'd get this. By the way, almost all TPBs i've seen are a ton cheaper at Amazon.
Wow. If I can get this for that price, I'll be all over it. I just searched Amazon, no preorders are up. Hopefully they will be soon.
If I remember correctly, the WW2 cross over was done by Dreamwave. This TPB is done by Devil's Due. For what it's worth, my opinion is that this set is worth getting. The TPBs would cost you around $20 individually, making it an $80 value for $50. Even if you pay full price, it's already a bargain. I have the first volume, but I haven't been able to find the other 3. Must be rare. In either case, my search can end when I buy this TPB. This series might not be what you're expecting...if you're expecting some IDW-like classics, you might be disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed volume 1 when I realized it was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek, over-the-top throwback to the 80s. Literally, it's like the 80s GI Joe and G1 cartoons come to life, in terms of tone and characterization. EG, the bad guys are more more Yosemite Sam, less Machiavelli, and the good guys are more straight-arrow John Wayne types than complex Marlon Brando types.
in all honesty, the stories were hokey. its nice that theyve compiled it, but im not sure it deserves a HC treatment.
Is this comic style just with a hardcover over the top of it? sorry if this is already been answered. where and when can you get it?
True, I was really surprised at the differences between the two. I personally prefer the Dreamwave series, but I’ll probably get these just to have them. The Devil’s Due comics were definitely a lot less dark and menacing and had a real simplistic feel to them after reading the Dreamwave series. But I have to admit that I started reading them directly after I finished the Dreamwave’s version so they were still fresh in my mind. After reading the first 2-3 issues I put them down and told myself I would come back to them later, but I never did. So I can’t fairly judge them as a whole either. This will be a good chance for me to revisit them and give em another chance.
