I love Bludgeon, but the art inside is just gross.

I dunno, I think it is a good human-drawn but Bludgeon is just poor, even down to internal mini-me chest cavity.

I'm a big fan of Andrew Wildman.

I realize that his art is not as technologically bedazzling as Don's or EJ's, but I like the sense of motion and kinetic energy his art portrays.

    My $.02.

I don't mind the prime, I think that Bludgeon is just really poorly done in those scenes.

It does remind me of old Marvel, but I liked some marvel Bludgeons and disliked some.

G2 bludgeon has been my fav so far.

Reading Issue 1 was a sad experience, a total waste of time. I gave it away 2 seconds after reading the last page. There is nothing good about it. What's worse is that I pre-ordered Issue 2 which I plan on not reading and give it away too.

This is the first time I ever felt so robbed. I've seen fan-made comics 10 times better looking and better written than this thing.

Devil's Due lost me on their BIG G.I. joe reboot (they were doing fine prior to that imo) Now they completely and utterly lost me.

    Godspeed

I'm not so sure about the story, but I love the art. This is much more preferable that anything from the Dreamwave era.

one of the things i hate most about forums is the constant bitchiness and none acceptance of other peoples points of view; so i find this difficult to say.

the dreamwave stuff was fantastic, incredibly detailed and all around lovely. i didnt like the dreamwave gi joe world war two crossover though i have to admit. i thought it was slow and the art was far too pretencious. i agree that this story is fairly poor i really liked the devils due volume three but this is far too fan wanky for me.

talkin bout dreamwave; does anyone know what happened to Pat Lee that guy was awsome.

Bludgeon is a Pretender, that's what they are-- small robots in an organic-ish shell.

This is actually one of if not the most "scientifically" accurate portrayals of Pretender Shell technology I've seen in an official TF comic. A lot of them don't take into account size and proportional differences between the inner bot and outer shell.

And did Bludgeon just melt Prime's hand off? Hardcore.

I don't have any of the relevent links handy, but essentially the man was a crook. He lied to his employees about the financial status of dreamwave and essentially cost them a lot of money. Many of these employees actually post on these boards and are well known members of the TF community. And this is even without mentioning Prime's big white boobs.

I don't know the details but the way I understand it. Pat Lee = great artist but horrible business man. He got greedy, didn't pay the artists or writers at DW in ways that were inexcusable so the other writers and artists walked. And DW went under. Lee was as much responsible for the destruction of DW as he was for starting it. That's it in a nutshell I think. But I'm sure someone else can tell you more about it than I can.

And I have always liked Wildman's art and am looking forward to the G.I. Joe/TF issue.

I loved Wildman's Marvel TF work (in fact it was the later Furman/Wildman work that got me back into TF's in those days), I was less impressed with the stuff he did in the Dreamwave "house style". Let the man draw his own way.

Never read a TF/GI Joe crossover though, so will probably pass.
