So a year or so ago Gundam Age started. I don't watch it but I do keep an eye out for Gundam model news. As soon as the G-exes was announced I immediately noticed the resemblance! So I ordered a 1/144 kit when it was released and kept it in the closet for a while. This week I decided to work it. I started out with a little photoshop but soon I googled and someone beet me to the punch. So I decided to use this: I'm not much of a photographer so bare with me. Still without the panellines I removed all the possible seemlines, primed with Motip primer and 95% is airbrush work. Tamiya X-4 blue, XF-1 black, X-10 gunmetal, X-11 Chrome, X-14 sky blue, X-8 lemon yellow and X-7 red. Sealed it with a coat of future. (I might do one more coat!) I'm open to offers on this piece! iDD
very cool idea, I like it. I think your completed version came out better than the 'shop I'd love to see this model painted up as movie Prime
Thanks for all the nice words guys. I really like that Prowl! The G-Exes could easily be troop built into Smokescreen and Bluestreak too My brother showed me this today: GUNDAM GUY: MG 1/100 Astray - Optimus Prime Custom Build It 1-ups mine about 9001 times... iDD
First time I ever liked a Movie Prime... :| That is just awesome! Thanks! I might just do that.... What I like to do is just Action Masters Parts with Gundam models, still need to make pics of my Shockwave.
Neat. Ever since the digibash was released, it was only a matter of time until someone made one for real. This one looks great, though i think that the silver waist could be better in a less reflective grey. Also, do your G-Exes' hand pieces stay on? Specifically the backs of his hands (not the fingers, the other bit). Mine seem to constantly fall off...
A nice custom, but I don't understand what made you see Optimus Prime from the mold. Other than having a mouthplate and a pointy head, it doesn't really have any resemblance to Prime at all.
