    SHort and sweet

in my opinion Transformers need at least 6 movies and two trilogies

First 3 movies( 1st trilogy ) need to end with the 3rd movie being a total invasion of Decepticon Tranformers ala independence day

The 2nd trilogy ( next 3 movies ) need to concentrate on UNICRON coming to Earth and that battle

Ya after 6 star war movies I was burnt out too

Loved them but was also ready for it to end

course in another 10 years I may change my mind on that LOL

but I figured if star wars could do it and harry potter can do it

then transformers can definately do it too!

Oh God, please no Unicron. It's a horrible concept and about as un-realistic as you can get with transformers.

I like the Idea of one trilogy better. People will just be sick of it halfway through movie four.

I'd like to see one trilogy, and then reboot the series to come with a new take and direction.

Personaly, I'd rather not have Unicron in the movies at all. Maybe someone like the Fallen, that's basically a really old bad guy that comes back to life for some reason. Also, I'd rather not see more than 3-4 movies total for the time being. Maybe more down the road, but, for now 3 will do. Yeah, there have been some successes with 6 or more movies in a series, though those have had stories layed down for them from the begining. A good example of this would be the Harry Potter movies, where each movie has the storyline already layed down, and written in book form. If they had planned to do 6 movies from the begining, I could see it working, but, I don't think that was something they were planning on doing when starting up the first one.

Edit: Also, there is already a thread to talk about the sequels in- http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=141368

As long as they make em I'll watch em. As a Star Wars fan I can say that I don't think 6 movies was too much, though keep in mind there was a 16 year break between the trilogy's.
At this point I'd like to see at least 3 films with the second having a massive cliffhanger ending that carries into the third. I remember back on the play ground all the disscussion about Vader being Luke's father and how so many kids thought Vader was lying, and also talk of wether or not Han would live or die. I think it would be easy to replicate that style of cliffhanger if the studio has the guts...............

one trilogy please. That way it can become a classic trilogy.

Or make one trilogy and then 10 years later, make a new one with a new take on the trilogy with NEW advanced digital effects that surpass the original

More than the number of james bond movies

If the Transformers movies only use about 15 characters in each movie, there are enough Transformers characters to support more than 20 movies.
TF1 has only 5 Autobots and some Decepticon military vehicles.
TF2 can have a few more G1 Autobots and some more military vehicles.
TF3 can have the Dinobots, Insecticons and Constructicons.
TF4 can have the beast Transformers
TF5 can use characters from the Headmaster years without the head gimmick.
TF6 to TF9 can use more Japanese characters like Metal Hawk, Star Saber, Atlas, Sky Garry, etc.
TF10 and later movies. Still lots of characters that can be used from the Unicron years. Lots more beast Transformers that can be used.
Only Optimus and Megatron should be in every movie.
If there are more than 20 Transformers movies, I will probably be dead when the 20th movie comes out. Oh, well, that's life.

Personally, i don't think we can really say what number of movies would be ideal for TFs. It all depends on whether there will be enough drive and interest sustained as well as a constant stream of good stories to tell many years into the future.

    Movies in different time periods

Can also do at least 12 Transformers movies set in different time periods :
    1st Trilogy : Cybertron's past.
2nd Trilogy : Earth's past like the Beast Wars.
    3rd Trilogy : Earth's present
    4th Trilogy : Earth's future.

They shouldn't include Unicron since there isn't an Cybertron anymore.

Not quite so sure about having a trilogy dealing with Unicron, but I do like your idea of having more than three Transformers films. In fact, I wouldn't mind having them make more, lots more, Transformers movies. I'm that crazy about them.

I know... most of you guys would prefer just a trilogy. So don't jump on me about wanting more than a trilogy of Transformer films.

Uh... I think Cybertron is just in ruins. Don't think it's been utterly destroyed. Besides, I think the Autobots were going to try and find the Allspark so that they could restore things on Cybertron... before Prime decided that it would be better off if the Allspark would be destroyed, and thus end their war.

here is the thing about unicron being in the second trilogy

it would be like experiencing star wars again with the death star but here on earth and that would be awesome.

also think about it, can you even thing of what it would look like to humans on earth , how would they do it ? nothing like it has been done before in the movies and wow what a visual and totally something new the transformers movies could bring to the whole movie scene.

it would be unbelievable to see and that is what movie goers want to see , something new that hasnt been done before

I would like to see one complete trilogy, MAYBE 4 movies at the most.

Then no more movies, give me a new cartoon with a new japanes anime take on old G-1 designs and/ or a new complete CGI DVD movie.

Thats all I would want or take.

OR, they could hide Unicron in one big giant galactic storm cloud and make you guess what Unicron looks like :(  (ala FF2: Rise of the Silver Surfer)
