I'm talking the "encore" line. The closest to a re reissue I know of is the sw tc two pack (not sure if they were released individually). Encore does not include ehobby, takara books or hasbro books. Was sixshot an encore or a straight reissue? I haven't seen the box to see if a number is on it.
Skywarp and Thundercracker were previously released by Takara only as convention exclusives. The Encore two-pack was their first release in Japan since, and I didn't think they ever had an official "rereissue" of the Encore release outside of normal restocks. Sixshot was a straight reissue, just like Galvatron, Rodimus Prime, and a few others. The box is barely different than the original Takara box.
Then I could see a reissue if the demand is there. I never liked the figure myself but the idea of 6 in 1 seemed cool to me when it came out...until I saw some of the modes haha.
There was a big rumour a few months back that Takara may be gunning for Fort Max sometime in 2013. Sixshot seems pretty likely with all the pre-orders that are up.
Well, here's BBTS's price: Sixshot Asian Exclusive Metallic Color Redeco - Transformers Reissue Transformers Japanese Reissues
So, how's everyone feeling about the news of the Devastator repaint? I'm disappointed. Been so starved for Encore news, was hoping for something cool like Hound or Galvatron or even something that hasn't been reissued before.
It's interesting, certainly. I'm curious if it's a release that "means something" (Diaclone Constructicons is possible, G1-based G2 reissues are possible just to switch things up a bit, G1.5/G2 reissues period are possible, etc.) or if it's just a one-off because Takara wants to use the Constructicon molds one more time. At this point though I'm wondering if Encore is going to permanently become a line that randomly starts and stops with no real notice either way.
Commemorative Astrotrain is up for pre-order at BBTS for anyone who missed him before: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS12711&mode=retail Also Ultra Magnus: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS11321&mode=retail And Powermaster Prime: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS11326&mode=retail Been nice to see an uptick in reissues lately. Gives some of us a nice chance to catch up. Now if only Hasbro or Takara would get on a Ramjet reissue ...
Unfortunately no, nothing beyond the previous rumors that have been passed on. Pure speculation, but I do wonder if Takara's waiting to see how Fort Max does before they commit to any other larger reissues.
I worry about that. I'm not sure he'll do that well. I know he's much more affordable than the vintage was on the secondary, but it's still a huge chunk of change to drop.
I'm in the same boat as you, but I just tell myself that the Encore line is a niche line so they probably won't make that much of him (or any of them). Yes, between him and the 2013 Metroplex, I'm also curious what "BIG" 'bots they'll re-issue along the line. I'm a Decepticon collector so even if I know bad guys don't sell as well as good guys, I'm wishing for more bad guy leaders like Deszaras, Black Zarak or even a Liokaiser.
No disrespect, but there is no way. No way in hell that Takara are taking the biggest and most expensive G1 figure ever made, and using *that* to gauge justifiability on re-releasing other large figures... which would still be less than half the size of Fort Max. If anything, the Omega Supreme, Predaking set, Metroplex, Sky Lynx, etc. re-releases were what were used to justify Fort Max.
Don't worry, people that could never afford Fort Max will be all over this. I dare say that people will be doubling up as well. If I wasn't so involved with 3p products I'd be doing that. The Encore line would absolutely take off if Scorponok, BZ etc were reissued...
