Have there been any hints of what is to come in the future of this line? i guess the newest rumor is the Sixshot rerelease? Has that been confirmed yet?

I recently bought a MIB Sixshot only a few days before i first heard that rumor.

I was looking at some of the G1 Kos and it got me thinking of how much it would suck if i bought some of those and then they were reissued.

on the top of my wants list are...

    shockwave
    dinobots
    blitzwing
    astrotrain
    menasor
    superion
    hound
    sunstreaker
    mirage
    wheeljack

just wondering what you guys have heard/anticipate/are interested in for the future of the line.

Well, Dinobots, Sunstreaker, Mirage and Wheeljack they don't have the molds any more. Astrotrain, Blitz and Hound they do for sure as they've had the reissue / e-hobby treatment, so while possibly they may feel they were done too recently.
Menasor and Superion - they re-released these all through the nineties and for G2 (even if Stunticons weren't released), so it seems a safe bet that they have the molds.
Shockwave - I really don't know where they would stand legally as it's not their mold.

But in all honesty, I've only heard rumours for Trypticon and Scorponok. But only rumours.

Several months back i was told the stories of Scorponok being reissued were vapour. But IF Fortress Maximus is on the cards, it seems a likely choice.

    Gestalts: Hints have been dropped.

Dinobots: it was all but said yes.

Sunstreaker:,,, if they can manage MP12 w/it still looking like a Countach, then perhaps it's possible.

Shockwave: Last i remember, Toy Co were still in business? And still owned the design for the Astro Magnum. In which case, licensing.

Mirage...... This may go beyond a missing mold. There was a rumor going around several years back that Guy Ligier was seeking legal action against Takara and Hasbro for unlicensed use of the JS11.

    Take that as you will.

Takara *said* they had planned to release it closer to ROTF, but there was new tooling required.

Frenzy and Rumble took so long to reisuse, after multiple reuses of the Soundwave mold, i think it's a fair conclusion their reissues were at least partially new tooling.

TFC Hound was said to have new tooling as well, i think?

afaik, soundwave, hound, devastator, and jazz, all have new tooling. i'm hoping hound gets another reissue though, the tfc one is over 100 already, would be nice to get one for less than that

I'd love to see Headmasters reissued. And the '86 Decepticons. I'd also like to see Hound and other Autobot cars.

Scorponok isn't called Scorponok in Japan.

Of course, there's probably somebody who'd like to argue it means Scorponok is getting a US reissue.

    :rolleyes2

In this case we do - scorponok was just trademarked by HASBRO - Encores are made by TAKARA, so that is in no way an indication of what happens in the Encore line.

so whats the full story on Shockwave then? is he for sure NOT getting a reissue? they don't own the mold? i remember i actually owned a not-shockwave back in 1985ish that i got from the local Playco toy store.

he'd probably be my next ko purchase. so far the only ko i bought was devestator and that didnt work out too well.

    ***EDIT***

i just looked it up, it looks like maybe i had a "shackwave," from radioshack, but I'm sure I bought it at Playco. Is that possible?

or maybe it was this guy...

Hopefully it keeps going and gets into more new redecoes like the cassettes. With this Sixshot rumored, I'd really like to see a limited release of the all-shadowed version that appeared on the anime.

    lol

Yeah, there should be no demand for Jetfire whatsoever. If someone wants a Jetfire, there are a million Macross options open to you. Just buy one reprolabel Autobot symbol and BOOOM-- Jetfire.

You are aware that those million Macross options are mostly different colors/models, often very fragile, and cost upwards of $200 each, right? You may as well tell Hasbro to stop making Optimus Primes because there are so many Convoy options in Takara's Masterpiece line. God forbid anyone want the actual Jetfire toy for a reasonable price!

Anyway, another Hound would be cool, but only because I want one in a G1-styled box...

Trypticon is the only one I've heard rumblings about.

With soundblaster and the other I wouldn't be surprised at Black Zarak coming.
