Like a lot of people, I'm really taken with the Legends G1 Megatron, and I wanted to do something cool for him, and this is what I came up with. It's made with a few different diameters of styrene tubing and QuikPlastic two-part epoxy putty in the ends. I got super lucky when a bit of rectangular tubing was the perfect size to make the clip for the rear sight. I didn't know that I'd be doing that when I started, but sometimes you get lucky.

I know it seems redundant to say, "Fusion Cannon/ Scope", but I want to reinforce that it works in both modes. It's hollow, so it can sit over Megatron's barrel in bot mode, and it has a little cut out in the back to hook onto the rear sight and be the classic scope in gun mode. It wouldn't stay on if someone would start waving the gun mode around, but in bot mode it's pretty stable, and doesn't fall off. It sort of makes me wish that I had a little Legends Ironhide. hehe...

Thanks to everyone for the kind words! I was lucky enough to find this guy at a discount store.
Here's the update. To get the fit nice and snug to Megy's arm, I filled the cannon with Quikwood putty that I'd already let set up about half way (around five minutes). Then I pushed it on, and it formed a perfect fit for the barrel. Quikwood already has a low stickiness once it starts to to set, but to keep it from sticking at all, I used a little spit as a release agent. Gross, I know, but effective, and easily cleaned up. I often use a little spit of smooth out putty anyway, so it is what it is. I also used it to fill in the gap in the top of the cannon that I thought I would need for the front sight to stick out. The result is a lot closer to completion. I'm a little concerned that it will be too tight and will scrape off the paint. All of the test fitting has already worn it a lot.
Next up, I need to find my hole puncher so I can make some focus knobs, and I think I'll be there.

BTW, taking pictures of little Megatron up close made me really appreciate how angry-looking he is. I think that's a big part of why he's so popular. G1 tribute alt mode aside.

Yeah. It parts-forms, but it's just taking it off of the arm and then snapping it onto the top of the gun, or backways-wise.

Oh wow! I've been waiting for someone to do this since he was released, surprised no one did it sooner.
You certainly pulled it off well though, top work :)
